Casey James long awaited self-titled album comes out on March 20.  In the run up to it’s release, a song a day will be revealed on various websites.  Here’s a list of when and where each song will be revealed.  Today’s song is “She’s Money” and it’s at USA Today.

Also, here’s a new music video for Casey’s song “So Sweet”.

I like the 2 songs that have been revealed so far.  I hope this album does well for Casey.  It’s been a long time coming but I think it’s going to be worth the wait.

This is great strategy to promote the album.

    Thanks mj!

Can’t get enough of this. I initially thought it to be an official video until I reached halfway & realized it is actually a live performance, ultimately during a rehearsal. I hope this gets close as the CD recording cos it’s damn hot! I get a feeling I won’t remorse the huge shipping fees I paid for the CD LOL

I’m especially excited for his Ellen appearance. Casey was a
hoot on his 1st one. Any bet on what song he will perform? I’m hoping for Drive
but it is very likely LDCIAN as it’s still sloping up steadily on charts.

There aren’t many guitar players around who are that good!  If Casey couldn’t sing a note, he could probably make a name for himself just playing.

the Caseyfest is just beginning. been waitin soooo long for all of this.  i’m in HEAVEN!!

Oh, man. That live video of So Sweet is AMAZING. I hope the album version is at least close to this performance. He sounds great and that is some tasty guitar playing right there. And yes, I really like his voice (I’ve always said it sounds like honey over sandpaper with a splash of bourbon ;) ).

I’m surprised at how much I like She’s Money. Mansfield is right about the Doobie Bros reference. :) It has a very old school Southern rock vibe to it.

I”m so happy at the way BNA is doing the promo for Casey and the album. It seems like they have a lot of faith in him as an artist.

The two Idol albums I’m most looking forward to, Casey’s and Haley’s, are coming out soon, so color me happy.

I dont know if it is just me, but Casey sounds like Charles Kelly from Lady Antebellum.

It’s said below that “if he had sung like this on the show he probably would have won”.  I remember the show, and I agree.  The thing is, he couldn’t sing like this then…except for ‘Jealous Guy’, which was not enough to convince people.  He has learned how to sing every song like he did ’Jealous Guy’ , and he is really great now!

Its amazing how when these contestants get songs they wrote or they picked that suit them how much better they can sound. Especially when they arent singing 30 year old songs. Casey always had a great tone on idol but he had a little vibrato and that is gone now. He has really improved vocally. A lot of that is just confidence. I have always thought casey had the goods and these songs are just proving it. But idol is what it is and you have one song a week to make an impression.

I think that with time and exposure Casey James could become known to be included amongst the greatest guitar players, like Jimmy Hendrix, Slash, BB King, Jimmy Page, etc. He is madly skilled on that electric guitar. It comes from someplace inside him and even with no vocals I could listen to him play guitar all day! But I like when he sings at me too!

Casey also got very lucky. He didnt win and he wen tinto the whole thing when talking to a record label with a vision. They gave him the time to make sure the music was right. When your at Caseys age that was so important because that might of been the last chance to get on a label. He is a star. Whether that happens with this album or a little down the road who knows but everything is there. And you dont see these kind of contestants who dont win like this all the time on idol.

Ha! There may be something in that. ;)

I don’t know what it is about those two, but it seems like the music comes pretty organically to both of them; Haley with her jazz and Casey with his blues. It sort of flavors everything they do. And they both have some kind of throwback vibe in their own ways.

He will perform LDCIAN. Saw it on All Access

I so agree. All their influences flow thru them and it does give both of them a throwback feel – but in a great way. You can hear all the music history they have in their heart and gut and yet, you still see how they’ve made it their own, they’ve added their own twists and made it fresh.
