Casey James Announces His Record Deal With Sony Nashville

WOOHOOOO this is the most exciting day in my entire life!! :) Congrats Casey you deserve everything!
I wonder what the “naysayers” will say now HUH! who cares!!!! lets just celebrate!!! WOOHOOOOO!!! :)

Wonderful, wonderful news and it’s going to be such fun watching Casey’s career. Even though he is a Texas boy who will always love Texas, I think Nashville is going to love him and he’ll love them back. I am ridiculously excited about this!!

I’m really happy for him. I think that’s the right place for him. I’m hoping he does more of a country rock sound, but I think he probably will.

Awesome news! I’m sure he’ll have a great album and tour to follow!

It is fantastic to have the confirmation straight from Casey! It has been a long wait and at times things seemed to be uncertain. But I am so happy it all worked out! Now we just have find out with which label he has signed to. :)

Congrats to Casey, I wasn’t a big fan of his (wasn’t a big fan of anyone from this season)but he was one of a few that I liked enough to take some interest in. Hope it all goes well for him and I’m looking forward to seeing what music he comes up with.

His Momma said that every card, note and tweet will be read and that they are all so thankful to his fans. I ‘spect when he gets back home and has a bit of down time, the above mentioned will happen. I see that Sweet Boy is taking notes of his fans!! I love that he throws guitar picks too. (I would mention the scarf thrower but I would be accused of comparing) :)

What better way for Casey to tell his loyal fans the great news of the day than Twitter and have a bit of fun with it at the same time?

Great news for Casey. I’m very happy for him and hope he gets to put out the music he wants.

For me the time is ripe for a contemporary Allman Bros, CCR, Eagles type band. It will be interesting to see what he puts together.

Very cool, actual news. So exciting for him!

I’m interested to see what comes of this, since I may actually buy the CD, if the style doesn’t segue to Country – but stays with a rocking, bluesy vibe. I don’t care what they call it – I just care what Casey sounds like.

I’m happy for him, he got so screwed with the Kara stuff, and other things on the show. I will be looking forward to his album, hope its good. He seems to have a handle on it. I think she has been a fan of Casey the whole time, she has been anxious to write with Casey for a while now.

I am thrilled for Casey !! After seeing the youtube videos of Casey’s performances during his homecoming, I was 100% sold on him. Then seeing him on the AI tour got me even more over the top excited about him. I will buy his cd and I will definitely go see him when he tours !

Great to hear the official news! Congratulations Casey :) It’s going to be fun hearing who he’s working with and watching him get his career off the ground. I’m probably hoping for a countrier album than most of you. But at the end of the day I hope whatever Casey does musically is high quality because he’s got the musical intelligence and talent to do it. After seeing his set in Dallas, I’m even more pumped that Casey got a deal. I’m so happy for him.

Some interesting news also! If u went & read on wikipedia you will see that Casey under Arista Nashville thats mean the same Carrie Underwood label! Also he is the first artist signed by Sony Nashville under the new CEO Gary Overton who has some interest on him! WOOHOO! :)

Hear, hear. So happy for him, especially with Mr. Overton and Aimeee Mayo both interested in him. I read an interview from Northwest Fla. the other day, where the lady interviewing him mentioned Taylor Hicks and Adam Clark of the Sons of Sylvia to him, :-D. Taylor already expressed interest in doing a Gulf coast benefit concert with Casey. He is so humble, though, that he didn’t think he could perform with Adam. But it would be cool to see the 2 of them playing the mandolin, :-).

I have a feeling this came from a comment I made here where I laid out which labels within Sony Nashville had what going on. What I actually said was that Casey is ONE of the 1st if not the 1st of Gary Overton’s signings as chairman & CEO of Sony Nashville. Somehow that’s morphed into what you’ve posted. I just want to make sure it’s known that I don’t know for sure whether Casey is Gary Overton’s 1st signing. Based on some further research I think he might be.

Gary Overton became CEO of Sony Nashville in May (and they announced they’ve given him the chairman title this week) and I am not aware of any new signings other than Casey in that time. Joanna Smith and Jordyn Shellhart of Columbia Nashville are the other most recent signings but those have been in the works since last year. But that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have others in the works.

Remember this is somewhat a gift of timing with Joe Galante announcing he was going to retire in April, Gary Overton officially taking over in May, and S9 ending in May. Joe Galante is still in a consulting role with Sony Nashville until the end of this year.

I’m not trying to rain on the party here because I actually think Casey’s got big potential to do well in the country music world if the music is right. I think Overton wouldn’t sign Casey if he didn’t believe in him. You definitely want your 1st signings to work out. I look forward to the journey. I just wanted to clarify because something I speculated has morphed into fact for some people.

Interesting – I just saw Taylor Hicks AND Sons of Sylvia in concert 6 days ago. I’m thrilled for Casey – he was one of my top 2 this season. So long as he goes with more of the blues rock / country rock vs. straight country, I’ll be happy. I wish him great success. I’d love to see him pair up for something w/ Taylor as well.

Yes. We do need an official website for CASEY. If the announcement is officially made this coming Tuesday, perhaps we will get our wish.
