Casey Abrams plays bass while he duets with Naima Adedapo in a jazzy performance of of the classic tune, “Summertime”. The American Idol 10 alums joined forces at the Potowatomi Casino in Milwaukee, WI on October 19, 2012.

Naima displays a side we really didn’t see on Idol. The girl can SANG. Maybe the duo can record a duet together.

Watch below.

I loved Naima Adedapo during her stint on Idol. So different, so multi talented. Didn’t she also make her own clothing? I hope good things come her way and to Casey’s, too.

    Casey and Naima collab FTW!

I loved Naima, too. She was just so unique that I don’t think it translated well onscreen to America. Major style points for both these guys. They both looked like they were having a great time, too.

Bummer man. This fan sat at home in Milwaukee on Saturday night and didn’t go see this.

Next time…sigh. There better be a next time.

Love seeing these two perform together! Awesome! Casey killied it on that bass lead in and Naima…strong vocals….wish she would have sung this song on the show! Season 10 >>>>>>>

That was great. Two very talented performers. I also loved (and voted for) Naima their season. These two should perform more together, and record.

I love their creative energy. Wow! If she had sung “Summertime” on the show, no matter how good, it would have been overshadowed by Fantasia’s masterwork of the same song. I’m really enjoying these two together.

Naima DID sing a jazzy version of “Summertime” on the show – Top 12 Girls. And it was very good.

She got compared to Ella Fitzgerald by Steven, which was good, and actually made some sense, and to Fantasia by Randy, which was not – since there was no comparison in the styles they were singing. Randy said ‘Lounge Act’ – and other stupid stuff..no one seems to have recorded what JLo said.

As good as it was, singing a song that a winner made her bones with wasn’t going to do Naima any favors – never a good move to set oneself up for comparisons …especially when Randy liked the Divas, not the Jazz Babies.

She wasn’t his ‘cup of tea’ any more than Haley was – and his judging reflected it. TPTB did not want.

But she’s still very good – and this looked like a lot of fun for everyone involved.

    IMO. Of Course.

So glad u posted this MJ! These two have a great vibe going here. Just love it!

It’s cool how these two have remained friends and are supportive of each other. This is from Casey’s show– and Naima is from WI–so it’s great that they were able to perform together again. I love Casey’s band too–all jazz musicians.

I also would be excited to hear some more duets from these two. Naima mentioned in an interview that she is exploring different kinds of music –so maybe some jazz is on her agenda.

Casey is so versatile it’s crazy. I loved his vocals too and the little harmony bit he puts on the end of the song.

I want to thank mj for posting this too. So nice to see idols perform together. I remain a big Casey fan as he is just so versatile and he just loves to perform with other artists like Naima.

Love Casey too.  It def seems that the idols like making music with him. I’ve even seen some cool vids with Jackie Tohn who was on AI for a bit awhile back.

The live vids of Casey and his band that are on you tube are really, really good. I would love to see him-hopefully one of these days he will come to my neck of the woods.

I’m sick to death of this song; but this rendition is really good :)

I love Naima, too, and voted for her.  And CaseyA.  Really, I liked most of the top 11 from AI10.  I wish Naima had had more time on Idol to spread her wings.  And since she didn’t, I’m glad CaseyA did.

I really hope that Casey will be at some of the Jazz Festivals next year. They are very popular now all over and Casey is a perfect fit to perform at them. It would help him to sell more of his CD’s at the festivals too.
