Thanks so much for the find, AndyR! Since it’s the Wrensong page, I assume that’s Jon Randall, one of the co-writers, singing it. I transcribed the lyrics:

What a beautiful song! I really hope this is included in the album. Plus, Bill Anderson is a living legend in country. It must have been such an honor for Carrie to write with him.

I like Carrie and hope that album #3 has better material than Carnival Ride. I only liked 2 songs on it.

Well November is looking to get pretty crowded with Idol releases. With Adam, Allison and Kris all aiming for November releases as well. Since Carrie has the first week, maybe the other 3 can take up the rest of pre-Thanksgiving weeks in November.

Carrie cowrote at least 20 songs for Carnival Ride too and only 4 made it onto that album (3 were singles and hit #1 on country radio, and she won a Grammy for her vocal performance on 1 of them, Last Name). She’s said over and over again that she’s not someone who needs to write every song and that writing has been a learning process for her. Like most artists Carrie’s income comes mainly from touring (Carrie’s 2008 tour grossed $33 million according to Pollstar) and endorsements so to be honest I don’t think she’s strongarming her way into anything for money. She’s already been showered with awards and an Opry membership so it’s not like she needs the cred either (besides that some of country’s most acclaimed like George Strait, Martina McBride, and Reba McEntire don’t write much if any of their material).

Carrie has said she thinks she’ll have more cowrites on this album but I think it’s just part of her incremental growth as an artist. In her interviews and blogs she’s always emphasized how amazing the writers she gets to work with are. I really don’t see Carrie suddenly trying to be considered a songwriter. She’s a singer first and foremost and she seems to realize that.

Let’s hope this one is better than Carnival Ride. I thought songs like Last Name were a move in the wrong direction for Carrie.

yeah but they are all going after different markets/audiences, so they shouldn’t really conflict with each others’ sales.

About time Carrie. I have played out you other two albums. Wow going to have to save up money for November. Carrie, Adam, Allison, Kris all with albums coming out. Christmas around the corner. OMG I need to win the lotto. :wub_tb:
