Gah, between losing my grandma recently and PMS I need a whole box of tissues!

Simple, effective and touching video. Love this!

Never expected that acting bit. Her acting is much better than Just A Dream video…. can’t wait to see her on TV and on the cinema screen!

*tears* OMG!! My new Carrie song and video. She does such a great job portraying the emotion of this song. WOW!! Her compassion for children, families struggling, and her faith really shine through here.

    Gorgeous song. Very stirring video.

    Beautiful song, beautiful person :)

Beautiful. Definitely a tearjerker, the kids got me both times.

I actually forced myself to watch that and all I can say is that it isn’t my cup of tea….life is bad enough without some multi-millionaire making a buck off of it.

Why would you force yourself to watch it? Life is bad enough without making yourself watch something that you know you aren’t going to enjoy.

Carrie does it again…another great video and awesome interpretation of the song. The part with the old man really makes the entire video fantastic.

The last scenario hit just a bit too close to home. This was so well done.

Beautiful song, beautiful video. It’s nice having a balance in entertainment – where some of it brings awareness to all the children who need homes. I didn’t like the last part as much, I would have preferred just seeing it acted out rather than speaking parts, and I liked Carrie better observing situations from afar.
I also like the spiritual play on words for temporary home.

Very beautiful and touching. ANd yes, the last scene got to me on a personal level too. Been there, done that 25 years ago almost to day. It never stops hurting.

I’ll be adding ‘Temporary Home’ to my personal soundtrack of my life.

  • Planet Fierce

Thank you Carrie for this beautiful perspective. Plus there is the added bonus to stop and realize that however tough things are right now there are others who are suffering more than you. I cried yes, but I thank God for that otherwise I might be losing my sense of humanity.

*sniff* Dangit (tm Kris) that last stanza gets me every time.

I prefer uplifting videos to sad ones; I hate being made to feel depressed!

Having said that, I love this song- Carrie is one of the few country people (I am a Rock fan) I can listen to.

I commented on this in another thread, so glad to see it has its own thread now. Watched it again and cried again. Carrie has turned into a wonderful actress, as evidenced by this video and the one for “Just A Dream”. Now I have to figure out how to put it on my facebook :).

Sad song. It gave me a little lump in the throat.

(Is it just me or could the first kid featured pass for a young Taylor Hicks? Heh. :P)

Broke down. And just lovely – the song, the video and especially Carrie. She can act, can’t she?!

(Is it just me or could the first kid featured pass for a young Taylor Hicks? Heh. )

Yep – I could see Taylor in those pretty brown eyes.

1st of all thanks be that Carrie didn’t go back to Roman White for this. The treatment is just right, showing Carrie on her own journey trying to get to her grandfather before his last moments and having a passing moment with these other people with their own stories. I love that. The scene with her and the old man got me all choked up. All the actors including Carrie did a really good job IMO.

This is one of my favorite songs that Carrie’s ever released and the video does it justice IMO. They didn’t try too hard and the video just flows. Great job by the cast and directors.

I watched this last night thanks to terps posting it on another thread. It’s just beautiful! Watching something like this reminds me of watching a sad movie that touches on the realities of life in such an artful and heartfelt way.

LOL, windmills your comment brought tears to my eyes once again.

I also agree with Planet Fierce’s comment re: not wanting to lose my humanity.

  • sma11ie

I liked this. I liked the song to begin with, but thought the video was well done and not too heavy handed with spelling out the “message” (cough, Gokey, cough). NGL, definitely shed a couple tears, but then I cry during commercials =P.

It is a great song, amazing video and lovely voice… what a masterpiece. I just feel that I can relate to the song and the storyline of the video (it was like watched a mini movie), and at the end of the video, I bawl like a baby. The story line is a reality that might happen in every person life.

As for me this is an enlightenment and inspiration, that despite the many difficulties in life you encounter, this is only temporary. Ok, it’s a bit religious but not preachy, It’s more like makes you thinking of what direction of the purpose of your life. Kudos for Carrie and the Team (and her fiancee Mike Fisher who encouraged her to write this song) – Great MV!!

Echoing the sentiments expressed above. Beautiful and touching video, especially for those of us who have lost loved ones recently.

The video is now #1 in all genres on iTunes. Plus, Play On has climbed to #5 on the all-genre albums chart, #2 in country albums!

Really? I was really moved by her acting in Just A Dream too. I bawled me eyes out on that one.
