I think there is a string attached to Carrie’s elbow that automatically pulls up her arm to put her hand on her hips at the sight of a camera.

I don’t get the idea of going some place just to be seen there. It’s like these guys are Oscar groupies. when I saw the news bit about Carrie Underwood arriving in LA for the Oscars I thought she was singing something there.

Maybe this Elton John party is a charity affair that they go to every year in support of the charity? that would make the circumstances much better than the mere desire to be seen.

Hell, If I was extended an invitation to an Elton John party I’d be there with bells on. This is a party to celebrate the Oscars, not an exclusive party for Oscar winners and losers. This is nice free publicity without the paparazzi invading your personal space. You get to meet some movers and shakers, maybe Carrie’s manager was getting her introduced to some film makers for them to see her as a future prospect for their movies or entertainment ventures.

Also, I don’t think that all 2000 people at the Oscars were directly connected with the show.

That’s exactly what it is. I think this is its 17th year. This year the party raised nearly $4 million this year to fight AIDS.

Where does Randy come up with these jackets? This one is better than the Captain Kangaroo jacket from last season’s finale though.

ha ha! that’s funny hicksaholic. i think the same thing…her posing is a bit too forced, dare I say robotic, for me. ESPECIALLY the disney ones last week, though this one is right up there with’em!

Yes, I agree being at that party was a fundraising event. It may even go back to Carrie, Randy, Simon, and Ryan’s involvement with Idol Gives Back. They did seem sincere in wanting to help, especially in Africa.

Carrie knows the routine by heart.
