I’m convinced. David Cook is an alien. Not a glittery one…but WOW…he is one of a kind. Such a class act. Articulate, humble…Santa…if you’re listening…I’ll have one of those.

Well, all I can say is I am so glad that Carrie Underwood did not CHANGE here looks ( not her hair, not anything ). Unlike Kat Mcphee ( now a blond ) and Kellie Pickler ( now a red head ).

I can’t wait to see Carrie singing I Will Always Love You with Dolly, the clip sounds amazing. So does What Can I Say with Sons Of Sylvia. I might make fun of the Jesus Is My Designated Driver song but Carrie sings it so amazingly. O Holy Night sounds awesome too.

One thing about Carrie is she’s always been so uncomfortable taking compliments but she’s getting better deflecting them. And she’s still giving AI credit for where she is now and IMO it’s not in some artificial or forced way.

    Thanks MJ!

Um, Carrie is classy and she is also humble. So David isn’t alone in that. I’m glad her and David are friends. My favorites!

Dolly is one scary lady! Carrie sounds amazing in all the clips.
I love her hair without extensions.

Yeah…but she’s not a dude. So, I think yay for her, but WOW for David. Just keepin’ it real. Glad they’re friends too. She’s definitely a class act and I think they both think very highly of each other.

such a sweet thing. dont care much about her music, but like her as a person and a performer.

stay true to yourself Carrie. you are a one fine lady.

Carrie Underwood is a gigantic country star. Impressively selling records. Which is why she gets to have a TV special. Only on Fox would she have the super “American Idol Winner” under her name.

Dolly Parton has such an unique image, lol, she always makes me laugh for some reason.

What I saw sounded good, now I wish I could watch the previews. And Carrie looks hot in those interviews.

I will always be a fan of Carrie. Besides her tremendous vocals, she is such an eloquent, classy and modest young lady.

I rooted hard for Bo in S4, but have really come to appreciate Carrie in the intervening years. I’ve never been a huge Country fan, but Carrie makes it really accessible. I love that she has a rocker side, and it really is heartening to see a true superstar remain so grounded and gracious. It’s no secret that I follow Cook pretty closely and am obviously thrilled that he’ll be performing here, but I’m truly looking forward to this entire special. I think the good clean cheese factor appeals to me in much the same way that Idol itself does.

I saw tons of promo for this special last night and honestly I’m excited to see it.

Hmm, these SoundScan numbers probably belong on the SoundScan thread, but I just get the feeling they’re gonna get lost in there.

    UNDERWOOD*CARRIE PLAY ON 123,870 44 86,218 656,342
    UNDERWOOD*CARRIE SOME HEARTS 9,792 160 3,764 6,876,376
    UNDERWOOD*CARRIE CARNIVAL RIDE 5,493 31 4,190 3,002,634

Carnival Ride passes the 3-million sales mark! :)

Some Hearts is still going. I swear, that album is like the Energizer bunny.

I’m soooo excited about the special! The number with Cheno and Applegate looks like awesome fun. Carrie’s mom re-affirms my belief that she is one totally cool lady. The duet with Dolly looks like it’s going to be classic.

    Carrie got 2 Grammy noms:

Best Female Country Vocal Performance for “Just a Dream” and
Best Country Collaboration With Vocals for “I Told You So” w/ Randy Travis

    Looking forward to this

So excited for this special. First, it’s been ages since there was a good, clean Christmas special on tv for the holidays. I’m showing my age, but I loved the ones with Bing Crosby, and Andy Williams, sitting around the living room with my whole family, decorating the tree, wrapping presents with those shows in the back ground. There really hasn’t been anything like it for too, too long. Yay for Carrie bringing it back.

Second, I’m thrilled to have David Cook as a guest on her show. Because of their friendship, I bought Play On, and even though it was a loyalty purchase, I love it! The music is great, and I listen to it a lot. I’m so happy they are good friends.

I’m really excited for this show. Can’t wait.

I’m just now watching the interviews. In the 4:08 one–

Interviewer: The last time we talked to you was when you won American Idol. What’s happened since then?

Carrie: Nothing much! I’ve just been at home.

    LOL! :)

WIN! I am not a country music fan (except for Keith Urban), but I love Carrie’s music. And of course, you can’t see enough Cook. And you don’t, not on TV, so this is a great opportunity, even tho he can’t sing the duet, dammit.
