Carrie Underwood has been singing NBC’s Sunday Night Football theme since 2013. But, until this season, she was performing a reworked version of Faith Hill’s “Waiting All Day for Sunday Night,” which was set to Joan Jett’s “I Hate Myself for Loving You.”

Now, the country star gets to put her stamp on the theme (not to mention collect a few royalties) by own spin recording a brand new version of her Miranda Lambert duet “Somethin’ Bad.” NBC has been teased the theme in 16 second promos during the Olympics, but now the @NFLonNBC Twitter account has released a much longer clip of the new song.

The NFL season opener between last season’s Super Bowl teams, the Carolina Panthers and the Denver Broncos, airs Thursday, Sep. 8 at 8:30 p.m. ET/ 5:30 p.m. PT on NBC.

Also as an aside, Carrie, Brad Paisley and songwriter Kelley Lovelace and others involved in the creation and publishing of the platinum-selling country song, “Remind Me” won a summary judgment against a copyright infringement claim by plaintiff Amy Bowen (known professionally as Lizza Connor). Read more about that at The Hollywood Reporter.

And, the internets are going crazy over this “no makeup” selfie Carrie posted on her Instagram.
