By the sounds of it, she was a little under the weather. Even still, she has one incredible voice.

Shows how long I’ve been to a concert….I didn’t know they were set decorating concert stages.  I gotta get out there and see the latest singers.
Only a large voiced singers can pull off that type of dramatic song.

Thanks for capping MJ! I think Carrie’s voice was only at around 70-80% last night but she did a pretty good job fighting and covering and most of both songs sounded great.

I’m guessing it’s allergies since she usually gets them this time of year but I’m not sure. Tough schedule for her: she had 2 shows Saturday and Sunday, she has a show for IBM’s Pulse Palooza tonight, and she has a show in Fresno tomorrow before she gets a couple days off.

My husband and I saw Carrie live during 2010 (“Play On” tour) and she really is an excellent vocalist.  In person, she’s extremely tiny so it’s a little strange to hear that huge voice coming from her so much so that her mic was inches away from her mouth like it is here.  She was powerful and sang for almost two hours straight — and that was despite being on the road for six months.  I recall wondering what her voice would be like after all that, but it was incredible.  Actually, it was better than in this video.  Carrie must have been under the weather.

hope she’s feeling better tonight – my daughter is looking forward to her IBM concert in Vegas!

Is it just me, who thinks whenever Carrie does “Blown Away” live, there’s just something off about it (with the exception of the Grammys). It’s like she’s struggling with the song. This is coming from a fan who has all her albums.

It’s probably just you. She’s been nailing Blown Away consistently in concert (tons of video out there) and in most TV performances (other than the 1st performance on AI).

That explained it then if she was under the weather a little bit.
I saw the concert on TV last night and she couldn’t hit the high note on How Great Thou Art, she just skipped them, and she was struggling on some of the
notes on I Know You Won’t also.

She looked great as usual though.
