Dancing with the Stars won? UGHHHH!

Love Carrie’s multicolor dress. She looks absolutely beautiful. I wish someone would dress Jordin better. She just wears dresses that are so unflattering on her, but she is a beautiful girl.

  • terps

    IKYW was AWESOME

  • gingerly

Have I ever told you how much I hate these kind of shows? Does anybody even care. I doubt I’ll even watch te videos. I’d hate to think that people as enlightened as me have a vote in this crap…yeah I guess I consider it crap. Sorry, I even have a difficult time with valid awards. I just don’t even care. I do like to see what they wear (well not Jordin because her clothing choices always suck…yeah she’s looked good once or twice but I think she hated the choice) but it doesn’t make an award validate a performance to me in any way.

  • curlyQ23

I thought Carrie’s performance was brilliant. Seriously, she floored me. Goosebumps.

    And she looked gorgeous.

  • J.S.G.

Carrie Underwood, okay where did that come from?
I think she just reached a new level in her vocal career. That was amazing.
The power in her voice, and it seems so effortless. And it is not like she is been resting her vocal chords since she won Idol.

  • bjames

    1) i hate how the only celebrities there are ones that won awards, and the only awards they are airing are ones whose winners were willing to show up.

    2) carrie sounded and looked great, complete with all three dresses.

    3) i’m so glad to see jordin winning awards and actually doing her thing, when nobody thought she would.

I actually like Jordin’s dress this time around.

  • houstonrufus

Listening to Carrie sing that song left me worn out. I’m surprised she didn’t blow out her vocal chords. I’ve always been kind of iffy on the song–half the song is like a string of big dramatic notes and it leaves me weary. But it requires ALOT of a singer. And I gotta hand it to Carrie; it’s a darn near athletic performance.

  • danceinsidex3

Carrie’s performance was incredible. Wow. Her green dress was really pretty too.

I have to admit though, I was kind of surprised she won the favorite star under 35 category. I know she’s hugely popular and I love her, but that category had 32 nominees. I was hoping either Carrie or Reese would take it and Reese won an award anyway, so I can’t complain. Its kind of cool that she’s the only person who will ever win that award though.

  • windmills

And houstonrufus, just think: Carrie sang that song in the middle of a 90-100 minute concert set for 137 shows in 2008. I think it takes being in top physical shape.

I thought she did great tonight. Maybe could’ve toned down the volume a little bit but it worked for the song anyway and the quieter parts were incredible.

Congratulations to Carrie and Jordin on their wins!

  • hardkandy

Have I ever told you how much I hate these kind of shows? Does anybody even care.

    Obviously, yes.

  • weareallinnocent

Well, humph. I couldn’t even get through the first minute of Carrie’s song. Maybe I’m tired. I’ll try again tomorrow, but it may just not be my cuppa — it sure starts out slow with very little to it though. But, I’ll give it another go to be sure…

  • serenade

Congrats to Carrie and Jordin on their awards.

Carrie sang IKYW amazingly. That’s one of my favorite songs from her CR album.

  • hypertwink

I looked at the pictures and had to ask — Has Jordin gotten bigger? She looks great (the dress not so) but I don’t think I remember her being this rubenesque before.

  • SallyinIllinois

Did anyone notice that Seal “promoted” his new CD by singing acapella? I’m sure that wasn’t scripted and he just felt he had to do it to get people to the stores to buy the CD….watch other artists start singing their songs when intro’ing the Best Actress or whoever. Clever.

  • SallyinIllinois

I just want to say about Carrie — the woman can sing her arse off. That was a pretty song. And we can now put her in the pop category or pop/c&W category. She knows how to pick the right songs.

  • terps

I think when she wears those types of dresses, they make he look bigger. I don’t think she has gained

  • waffle

Carrie may have sung the hell out of that song, but she just doesn’t move me. Oh well, different strokes for different folks, I guess.

  • t2

I never thought I would say this, but I would vote for Carrie just to see what she would wear to the event. Makes me wonder why she wore the same pair of jeans all through her American Idol season…

I am a big, big fan of her Carrie’s second CD and really love I Know You Won’t. Glad she got to sing it live.

  • http://www.dancin.ca dancin

maybe its my tv or something but really? carrie sang that good? sounded more like yelling IMO.. or maybe like waffle she just doesnt do it for me at ALL

congrats jordin :) looked beautiful as usual

  • primeminister

Congrats to both Carrie and Jordin!

I love Carrie’s dresses, especially the first one. Jordin is dressed better than usual too!

  • KrazeeK120

You know, I never really much cared for Carrie during her AI season. I always thought she could sing, no doubt, and she’s beautiful, but I never thought she had much personality, stage presence, or fashion sense. Now, I think she performs rather well and she always looks gorgeous. She hasn’t forgotten her roots either, last night she made a comment about how people voting for her are what gave her a career in the first place and was thanking people for continuing to vote for her. She seems really sweet and she deserves everything she’s gotten.

  • http://www.myspace.com/gwendolyndiane GwendolynD

Did anyone notice that Seal à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“promotedà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ his new CD by singing acapella?

He convinced me. That was hot.

  • SashaB

I just saw her AI performance of Alone on EW. It is remarkable how much Carrie has grown and blossomed over the years. Wow. What a beautiful performance. She emotes and connects so well. Vocally amazing. Favorite Carrie performance ever. Plus, it seems that she’s just getting prettier.

Thanks MJ. I missed the PCA.

  • weareallinnocent

OK, it’s morning and I gave it another listen. The song is heartwrenching and beautifully crafted, and Carrie sings it perfectly. Still not for me, but I got through it and can appreciate the artistry. Wish I liked it more…

    Seal was hot.

Jordin is beautiful. Catty but, I don’t ever really feel that she chooses clothes that flatter her figure. She does look bigger in the arms and shoulders to me. Hard to say if it’s the camera and dress doing it though.

Congrats to the winners. Well deserved!

  • poporange

Carrie Underwood never saw her on American Idol only saw her the first time on a music video and must say the camera loves Carrie and her videos are quite good. The problem I saw her first time on a live preformance and the sparkle was not as aparent. It is wierd and maybe makes no sence to all but Something is just not there for me in the live preformances .
    (ok I ramble)

Jordan is cute I just think her dresses remind me of prom.

  • sma11ie

Hmm, I was suddenly reminded of why I tended to find Jordin annoying on AI. I like her now, and she mostly seems like a sweet girl, but maybe I need to watch her talk less… heh.

  • gingerly

deleted because I should have quoted (or something like that) and now can’t…I’ll try again

Have I ever told you how much I hate these kind of shows? Does anybody even care.

    Obviously, yes.

This caused me a bit of confusion because I didn’t think you cared about my views, but then I realized you didn’t understand that my “Does anybody even care?” comment was about my statement that I hate awards shows and had nothing to do with whether anybody loves awards shows.

I know people love these shows or they wouldn’t be on your telly. I just happen to find them rather silly. It’s all good…tis what makes the world go round.

  • mar_4DC

I usually like Carrie’s songs but this song to me was terrible. Seriously I couldn’t even listen to it, it literally hurt my ears and I had to turn the volume very low. I kept waiting for some kind of melody, rhythm, anything to connect to and I just couldn’t find it. Of course I’m no expert at these things, but she did look beautiful although my 13 year old who was wathching with me (and also disliked the song) thinks it’s time for a new hairstyle.

  • YankeeFan08

Carrie looked and sounded stunning last night. She deserves every award she’s ever received. How I wish she would hook up with David Cook … talk about stunning!

  • sabby_rina

Is it just me or does Carrie always have multiple outfits for events like these?

  • Tony

Whoa. Absolutely floored by Carrie’s performance. She was incredible….but what else is new? lol

  • http://www.myspace.com/swood1104 Sarah

I noticed that too. I thought it was really sweet and shows that she hasn’t let this whole money/fame thing go to her head. She’s still grounded.

I liked Carrie well enough on her season, but I was primarily a Bo fan. I liked Some Hearts to an extent, but I really love Carnival Ride, and actually listen to it pretty frequently. She’s really come a long way in terms of stage presence and ability to really connect to a song. And she’s always had the voice. I’m definitely a fan. Love her.

Congrats to Jordin and Chris Brown! I love “No Air” and cheered when they won. :) I know it’s a longshot but I hope it wins the Grammy too.
