Check out a clip of “Good Girl”, the lead single off Carrie Underwood’s upcoming 4th album!

Amazon has a 30 second clip up: check out the uptempo country/pop clip while you can! Sounds like Carrie is back to warning off the ladies from those no-good men over some Shania-ish hand claps and beat and the 1990s country/pop sound Carrie grew up on.

EDIT: Amazon’s removed the clip. Guess it wasn’t supposed to get out there! But, here’s a streaming link on Tumblr that’s missing a line as the clip fades out.

Amazon lists February 28 as the digital release date of the single while “Good Girl” is set to be released to country radio on February 23 and Carrie’s 4th album is set to be released on May 1st. “Good Girl” is cowritten by Carrie, Chris DeStefano, and Ashley Gorley.

Hmm I listened to it, but I am gonna wait for the full version to form my opinion. Also, her songs always grow on me over time.

Love the clip! I sounds like it could be a song you jam to in the car with the windows down, singing at the top of your lungs!  I’m very excited to hear the entire thing! It sounds pretty country to me too. :)

I’m officially overly excited for new Carrie music now. I love this. It’s not so predictable from her. I am very intrigued by the second part of the clip. Sounds different from what she usually does, but in a very good way. She sounds great. I can’t wait to hear the full song, and I think this is probably going to be a great set up for her album!

The style of this song reminded me of something Shania Twain would sing.  Sounds like another hit to me.

I like the beat of this a lot, it’s definitely Poppy sounding to me.  So far, the lyrics do sound along the same theme as Cowboy Casanova but hard to know without hearing the rest of the song.

It’s enough to make me want to hear the full song, though.

How are you guys hearing it? The Amazon link takes me to the page but there is  no visible link to sample the song.

Amazon took the clip down and Sony’s taking down the clips on youtube too. As is usual, Amazon made the clip public when it wasn’t supposed to. If it pops up somewhere streamable that doesn’t get shut down in a minute, I’ll edit the post with a new link.

Methinks Amazon put it up too early and was asked to take it down.  Even the youtube links are quickly being shut down too.

Boo!  I wanted to hear it.  Thanks anyway windmills.  :)

windmills, I haven’t listened to Good Girl, but do you consider it country, as opposed to Twisted, Unapologize, and Quitter?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TFtK_cx-Zhc   this link just worked for me.  Kind of a Shania vibe to what is available on the clip.

That link worked angelgill. Thank you.

The clip starts out poppy (though there’s some steel guitar buried in the background) and then gets country (with “No good, girl, no good for you. You better get to getting on your goodbye shoes”). So, it’s both. Shania’s a good reference point. The production in the clip is very smooth and doesn’t point to it having a rootsy feel.

I’m not ready to make a full comparison with the songs you mentioned because clips can lie and I have no idea how the rest of the song will sound but there’s at least 2 lines in the clip that sound more country than anything in Twisted, Unapologize, and Quitter.

I like it! It seems very catchy! I agree with those who say its a lot like what Shania would have released, which is good.

It sounds pop to me – but hopefully it will seem more country when we actually hear the song.

The clip sounds very poppy but I like it.
