Here’s a pretty fun interview from Carrie Underwood with The Project, an Australian talk show. The country star is down under for a series of concerts and album promotion.

Carrie shows off her sense of humor as she talks about how she had to beg her dad to stop cleaning his guns before her first date ever arrived at her door. And that whole farm girl thing on American Idol? Totally exaggerated!

BONUS: Carrie sings an acoustic version of Good Girl for 104.1 2Day

I’m happy that Carrie’s worldwide press tour is going over so well. :)

    Sounds amazing as always.

Carrie is a lot more personable in her interviews since her marriage I think but I don’t like the new look she’s sporting with the overlong hair and the outfits shes wearing overseas are very modest compared to what she usually wears it seems.  Shes pretty no matter what though.

Many times in interviews she has spoken about how independent she and Mike are and how fine they are being apart when asked about her marriage. I guess that is good since they have no choice given their chosen careers, but sometimes it almost seems like she’s so nonchalant about it. I am a very independent person too, but about a week is all I can handle being away from my husband without missing him tons. I just wonder how cohesive their marriage can really be if they are so fine being apart for much of the year. Very odd.

I saw this interview on The Project & thought she was very relaxed .Pity her husband can’t be with her for at least some of the time she is here as I’m sure they’d have a great time here.

Mike is there actually. Carrie had mentioned that he’d come out to Australia with her and he’s been tweeting from Australia too. I think Carrie’s mentioned somewhere that she and Mike will stay in Australia for a few days or so after her tour’s done for a little vacation.

MayaMyers: I don’t think it makes sense to project your own situation onto anybody else’s marriage, nor do I think it makes much sense to read anything into “nonchalance” in answer to a media question Carrie’s been asked over and over and over again. It’s obvious by now she & Mike have an understanding, and do you really expect her to treat their respective schedules as a wedge between them? Besides that Carrie’s made some key decisions that speak for themselves like taking a step back in 2011 so she could enjoy newlywed life with Mike and choosing not to start her Blown Away tour in the summer so she and Mike could spend the summer together. Neither of these decisions are seen as momentum builders for her career but Carrie’s obviously finding ways to balance the demands of her career with her need to have a personal life.

Anyway, the interview was a lot of fun. Carrie seemed really comfortable there and she was quite funny with a lot of her comments. The funniest may have been her joking about her Carebears and Gaga’s Little Monsters having a brawl where the Carebears would come armed with love. Kudos to the hosts of the show for making her feel so relaxed. That acoustic Good Girl performance is fantastic too.

Good point MayaMyers. Carrie is trying to balance her life right now. And… you dont want to be wining to the public about your married life or it will be blown out of proportion. It’s easier to just have a nonchalant answers to those ind of questions. Smart Carrie. The interview was funny and enjoyable, she is more relaxes and confident. Love her.
