Carrie Underwood gets an opportunity to portray the lead character in the music video for her next single, “Blown Away”, the title track from her new album.

A storm is coming and the girl needs to find shelter…with or without her abusive, alcoholic father. The 40 second clip teases a mini-movie that looks dark, foreboding and scary, and really different than anything Carrie has shot so far.

What do you think?

This looks much better than the Good Girl video so far. I’m not a fan but can appreciate creative concepts that work. This looks cool to me and want to see the whole video.

This looks good.  I hope that fans and the people at radio are open to hearing a darker song from Carrie.

    Ohhhh, that preview is amazing.

I like it! “Dark Carrie” should be fun to watch. Reminds me of Garth Brooks “Thunder Rolls.”

*chills*  This looks amazing.  I really started getting onboard with the song when I really listened to the lyrics.  I think this video will get a lot of recognition.  And good for Carrie for stretching her artistry.

Preview though reminds me of the days when they would leak a few scenes so we will see if more artists see these as events. Back when MTV played videos.

Looks fantastic so far!. God I miss the days when videos were epic/fun/original, and watching them on MTV was considered valid way to spend one’s evening.

Epic is the perfect word! From what little I can see, it is going to be extremely well made. Love this song so much and the video looks like it is going to capture the dark mood perfectly.

The video looks good, but I don’t find the song country at all. And I’m tired of how her songs portray men. I think, it is still gonna be number one.

  • Carriefan1

I love this song! This video will be one of her best ones yet.

Wow, This looks good. Can’t wait to see it.

hahaha I thought about the Wizard of Oz, too. I hope it’s not cheesy. It’s a powerful song, it deserves a video to do it justice.

I think the Wizard of Oz references are very much intentional.

    This is very promising stuff.

And I don’t care if the arrangement isn’t country; the storytelling is.  If it helps non-country audiences recognize her for more than stomper crossovers, I say that’s a good thing.

This video looks like it will be amazing. :O

This is a really cool song…not very country, though!

Agreed! The music may not sound too country, but the storytelling in the lyrics is veryyy country!

Love the video snippet and can’t wait to see the whole thing!

It has become clear that Carrie Underwood videos are EVENTS, not just videos.  Each one she truly delivers an amazing result to cheris forever.  It looks like she’s back to acting like the JUST A DREAM or MAMA’S SONG videos… bottom line, Carrie is firing on all cylinders above any other artists today – makes my heart happy!!  RM 2012
