Carrie Underwood And Randy Travis – The Grand Ole Opry

Carrie Underwood was one of the country stars that joined  Randy Travis on the Opry stage October 4 to celebrate his 25 year anniversary.   I posted two performances taken from the audience–a duet from Randy’s new album, “Is It Still Over” and Carrie singing her hit “Jesus Take the Wheel”.

GAC aired a special featuring highlights from the concerts, including a performance we haven’t seen yet–Carrie singing “I Told You So”, a Randy Travis cover she recorded for her last album.

After the Season 4 Idol winner finished and left the stage, Randy told a sweet story about a teenage daughter of a crew member who thought the song was a Carrie Underwood original. See, When Randy originally recorded it, the teenager wasn’t born yet…

GAC also aired “Is It Still Over”. Watch below:

Thank you for capping MJ! I love the cry in Carrie’s voice on I Told You So and she & Randy sound great together on Is It Still Over. I remember listening over the radio the night this happened and thinking, Randy’s not the vocalist he used to be but he always seems to sound better when he’s singing with Carrie. They’ve got very complementary vocal tones and Carrie takes very naturally to Randy’s songs IMO.

Thanks for posting MJ. I was surprised that Randy didn’t join her on the song but I think that’s my favorite performance of I Told You so by Carrie. I’m with you on their vocal tones windmills. I am always amazed at the different artists who Carrie duets with it and it sounds great.
