I wish American Idol would take some lessons of how they do the group sings on CI. Ummm results weren’t unexpected and I do have mixed emotions. Yeah I’ll be missing him

Canada likes Mark more than Sebastian? Really?

I have hopes that we can finally lose Mark next week, and deep fear that it will be Mookie instead. I suppose there’s some hope that the eye candy fans will dial in for Mookie more now that Sebastian is gone.

I would if I could… He’s just so cute. I can’t see him not making it if someone gives him a contract. He’s like Keanu with a guitar.

Aw..no more eye candy! Sebastian will be missed, ok maybe just a little. I still can’t believe that mitch didn’t make bottom 3 or Drew?? Well at least Mark made it to the bottom 3 for the first time. Gavin was just ok, not great, he was better with Bush. I like the mansion scene the best, Jully Black is so funny. I like the indoor pool, that was hot. CI is so unpredictable, it will probably be Mookie going next week. Well bye-bye to Sebastian, thanks for bringing us your sexiness to CI.

I’m really mad.
And somewhat discouraged right now.
Not even about who went home, but who was in the bottom.
And I’m not talking about Mark.

Mookie, Mark and Sebastian were B3, with Sebastian going home.

Wasn’t the Toronto vote split between Sebastian and Mookie? If so, then Mookie should be safe next week at least.

I’m sad to see Sebastian go. He isn’t the best singer but his performances are a hell of a lot better than Mark’s.

I completely agree. I also wish they would follow suit with some of the themes because they don’t box the contestants quite as much. Some still make bad song choices but they do seem to have more to choose from. I would LOVE an “unplugged” version of AI.

I personally think Drew is the cutest guy left and possibly the best singer. He needs to work on his delivery. Mookies main problem is the part of Canada he’s from. They vote more by region than they do on AI. I believe he’s from Toronto and someone said they don’t dial into Idol much there. It’s been fun watching but I haven’t fallen in love yet with anyone. There’s three I like yet.

Wow, I can’t believe Mookie was in the bottom 3, but I’m hoping it’s just vote-splitting going on here. I can see where he and Earl would split votes and, regionally, I guess he was splitting with Sebastien. I actually like Drew even though he’s been disappointing so far. I think if he can just figure out who he wants to be, he has a lot of potential. Mark Day, just no. He’s comes across like a fat kid in high school doing a Clay Aiken impression. I think he’s got an okay voice, but I just don’t like the type of songs he sings or how he presents himself. It would be tragic if he outlasts Mookie.

well, I loved the group song, hated that Mookie (my favorite) was in the bottom 3. Oh well, I guess that’s how they vote in Canada, so I should just be thankful that I get to watch him for at least one more week, right? Maybe I should go visit my uncle in Canada next week so I can help the Mook out….I’m a mean power voter, haha…..

ETA: My impression of CI started out pretty good. I enjoy the more open-ended and/or edgy themes. I’m just not sure I like the judges, the host or the voting patterns. This is my first season watching, though.

As someone else said yesterday, it’s really interesting reading the varying opinions. Reading the blog, I used to think I was alone in not understanding the appeal of Mookie and Sebastian. Anyway, I definitely think the worst performer from last night was eliminated.

Damn. I knew it was going to happen, but it sucks. I really loved the Pigott bros, now I donà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t really have a reason to keep watching. At the very least Sebastian deserved to outlast Mark, Mitch, & Drew.

I agree with those who thought that Mark, Mitch and Drew deserved to go before Sebastian. Sure Drew is cute but his voice and performances to me are very run-of-the-mill, nothing special and unengaging. Mark can just sing ok, but his strength is his camp, I think. And Mitch’s voice is just grating to my ears.

Meanwhile, Sebastian is not the greatest singer in the world, but he’s an amazing performer, so to me, that qualified him to outlast the more milquetoast performers. Sigh.

One more thing – Sebastian singing to Zack “I hope you die before I get old” was f’in awesome.

Exactly, exactly. Agree with you for just about every point. Sebastian deserved to at least outlast Mark, and get further than the interchangeable cute-faced-but-nasally-and-deathly-boring Mitch and Drew. Mitch and Drew need to go STAT, or they’ll totally ruin the season for me. Neither of them would have made it past the semi-finals of AI7.

Looks like Mitch and Drew will outlast Mookie. If so, I’ll consider giving up CI forevah. (Even this is only my first season, heh.)

Why can’t Canadians (I’m speaking of some, not all) just vote for someone who’s not from their hometown? This pisses me off.

Drew’s appeal has been underestimated. Guy’s cute, sings well, has a rocker vibe and his whole hometown power voting for him. Even though Colinwood is small, I think in the context of CI voting patterns, they must be pulling significant numbers. I agree with smartcookie, Mookie does have a Keanu thing going for him, I always thought so!
At this point I think the top 2 are going to be Theo and Earl, and Drew and Amberly are going to be right up there, unless Mookie can pick up some voting steam (girls seem to love him). And please fellow Canadians: stop. voting. for. Mark. Seriously, enough!
As of Gavin: love that song, I actually got in on Itunes but it sounded very thin live and unplugged. Some of the CI guys could actually sing circles around him.

i agree with the keanu thing… but mix it with amy winehouse and that whole retro vibe I LOVE MOOKIE and voted my fingers off… i’ve never really voted on canadian idol with a few exceptions but never as much as i did the other nite

and i’ve gotten others i know doin the same for mookie HE DESERVES TO BE IN THE TOP 3 !!

Too bad about Sebastian. I guess I will still watch the show, but I won’t be as excited to watch it anymore. I have been spoiled with my favorites going to at least top2 on the last 3 seasons of Idol.

I refuse to watch Mark Day. My theory is that he’s some sort of practical joke on Newfoundland. Perhaps he is more talented than 80% of auditioners, but the rest are more talented than 95%, you know?

I blame song choice for Sebastian’s quick demise as well (as Zach of course, who obviously hated him)

For a guy who is so sexy, why pick these old 50′s songs that have no haunting quality? His first song, “Dark Horse,” with him sitting on the steps impressed everyone, even Zach. Why he never sang another really hot haunting ballad still puzzles me???

I do like Mookie, Earl (they have a certain charm about them) and Drew (to me) has a really good voice.

Mark Day just doesn’t belong there, sorry Mark, image does count, IMO.

And going back to song choice, I never appreciated Theo until this week and “I’m Weak In the Knees For You.” That is a hot song, Sorry that, Sebastian never chose anything even close after “Dark Horse” and didn’t use that sex appeal to his advantage with his latter song choices.

I may be shallow, but I will miss Sebastian’s eye candy and want to shake him for his song choices.

Hey 1girlarmy, must’ve missed this– when did this happen???

I feel somehow responsible for Mookie being in the bottom 3, since I couldn’t spend my time voting for him and Earl like I had in the past. It’s all my fault! I’m calling my family in Canada and begging them to vote. One annoying thing though, at least last week anyhow, is that voting time is from 10pm-midnight, which is only ideal for someone like me, who was on holidays at their parents house, and didn’t need to wake up early Tuesday for work. It’s insane to me that CI bumped up the broadcast time for that stupid High School Musical Show! (I ought to complain to CTV, not MJs blog). As it was, voting for 2 straight hours is pretty tiring, and I now have so much respect for you AI voters who give’r for your favorite every week. I had to give up at 11:45 and get my night-owl mother to vote while she watched the late news. It’s OK though, she loves Mookie too!
And Mookie will kill it during Brit week, just watch!
Also, amen to whoever said please sing Radiohead. I’d like to hear some Coldplay or Snow Patrol, too

I just don’t get the Drew love. I don’t find him remotely attractive and umm I usually can’t remember his name. He sings well enough I guess but his performances leave so much to be desired…

Did anyone else find it odd/creepy how in the opening number when Amberly starts to sing, Sebastian is hovering close to her just staring at her?

It’s in the first clip at about the 1:58 mark after Mookie sings. I’m not sure if it’s just bad acting or creeeeppy.

I’m sorry I split my votes between Mookie, Earl, and Theo, everyone. I’ll just vote for the Mooks next week, I promise. He’s gonna kick it anyway, the man was made for Brit week.

And I’m loving the fact Tom Jones is the mentor. I love Tom Jones.

Maybe I’m being naive (heh), but I’m trying to remain optimistic about Mookie.

Sure, its the second time he’s been in the bottom 3, but the same thing happened to last years winner, Brian Melo. And well, it worked out pretty well for him.

Hopefully, Mookie will be able to pick up some of Sebastian’s votes. I already know some people who supported Sebastian and are now moving on to support Mookie.

Next week being British Invasion week kind of puts a lot of pressure on Mookie though because that’s kind of his thing. So hopefully he’ll be able to

I also find it kind of strange that both times Mookie’s been in the bottom, no one was sent back to safety, so the bottom two remained a mystery. I don’t know if it was a time issue or something. Just a bit strange. Especially considering the week he wasn’t in the bottom, the bottom two was actually known.
