I initially underestimated the demand for the bracelets, and now I’ve had to place another order from the factory. I should be getting them in the next week, and they will be mailed out soon after I get them. Yours will be among the first to be sent out from the second batch, so I would expect it about the second week of June. You’ll definitely have it in time for the tour!

I lost both my parents to lung cancer and my mom had it spread to her brain. Cancer of any kind is devastating to the entire family and my heart goes out to anyone fighting this disease.

Cancer is just one ugly disease. I could not even fathom how David was able to get up on the stage week after week & perform. He had to reach into a place that he never knew he had that is for sure. He is one strong man. I have a long list of people on my daily prayers, Adam included. His family needs strength also.

If besides being a Star, David can bring more attention/money into the cancer foundation, then I am a’right with that. If David’s fans bring in more money to the cause, I’m all for it. Yeah, just a good thing to do IMHO.

Today is the 14th anniversary of my then 15 year old (now 29) daughter’s diagnosis with thyroid cancer. She goes to Mayo Clinic yearly but thankfully lives a normal life.

Cancer is a horrible disease striking at any age. I support anything that will help find a cure.

David Cook is superstitious. He puts “AC” on everything because both of his brothers’ initials are “AC” for Adam and Andrew. He thinks it will bring him good luck.

I donà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t think ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s right to collect donations for someone who isnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t going to be short of financial support in the near future.

OUCH for real. David Cook had no money before this competition and it will be sometime before he does. This brother’s medical bills must have been astronomical. I can’t imagine what a strain that is on a family. There are things that plans don’t cover and plenty of out-of-pocket. He’s only 36 with two young kids and if he passes, he’ll leave a widow with two very young kids. I am sure that David Cook would give all his money to him if he could because I think he’s that type of guy. His family means the world to him.

This is a good cause and these types of organizations know the type of financial strain it is on any family–especially with such a prolonged suffering. He sure is a fighter and he’s beat the odds that’s for sure.

My father was diagnosed with a brain tumor (there is no such thing as brain cancer) which means cancer cells started somewhere and traveled to his brain. My father had 5 tumors and after he was diagnosed, he died within the year. They never found the source of the cancer. So it was quick but we kept hoping. His medical care was covered (Canada) but I can’t imagine what those out-of-pocket expenses have been for his brother and family and just the need to trying to beat this and find a cure. My father was 60 when he died–that’s just 2 years older than me. So many cancers now aren’t a death sentence if you fight it and catch it early.

I don’t think this is Cook’s idea, it sounded like a bunch of his friends from Tulsa got this idea together as I read the narrative from the link provided. David Cook was pretty good about keeping that sad fact private during the competition and has never said anything about his fans doing anything. He has very good friends and he’s said that this friends means the world to him, and no wonder he loves them.

I’m a big fan of Ace and I love this quote from him:

If that is happening because of David Cook, then more power to him and his generous fans!

Just the possibility of a horrendous disease leaving a wife without her husband, children without their father, a father without his son, and a brother without his brother…that’s heartbreaking. Whatever can be done to go toward finding a cure, I’ll do my part. I’ve done it before, and I’ll do it now. For me, it’s the right thing to do.

I did not mean to make you cry. :cry_wp: I am so sorry for the loss of your father. I know how hard the loss is.

I also lost my grandmother to uterine cancer & my nephew to a very rare cancer when he was also 3 yrs old . Too much cancer in my family that is for sure.

For me, this is a great cause. Any cancer cause to me is just awesome. It really should be cured, like NOW.
