I live in Central Florida and listen to a couple of country stations out of Tampa and northern Florida. Let me tell you that Bucky is well loved down here! He was one of my favorites from S5 also. The boy has a better voice than a lot of the newer country music stars and he is just so damn much fun to watch – he truly loves performing.

I think Bucky does a fantastic job with this song. His voice is so clear. It’s a perfect fit. And, I’m super excited to see a Bucky Covington video!! It’s been too long since his last video.

They are virtually *all* much better off, living much more fulfilled lives doing their favorite work or at least something closer to it, than they were before they came on Idol. I think that’s why we hear fans griping all the time and Idols hardly ever.

Lucy, that’s such a good point. I’ve had that thought myself… so many of them are still doing music in some way, hosting shows… all things that they would probably have not been doing without AI. I’m so happy for Bucky that he’s doing well, have a soft spot for that guy, especially after going back and watching his audition and watching Simon just completely dismiss him (though, of course, Simon is not a country fan so you’re already at a disadvantage unless you’re cute blonde girl). Bucky always looks so *happy* – love it. He did a great job with this song!

I always liked Bucky. I’m glad he’s still singing and doing his thing. He sounds great singing this song, better than Nickelback, I daresay.

I love me some Bucky!! IMO he has one of the best country male voices out there today. Also, this song seems like it was made for him and really sounds great countrified.

MJ, thanks for giving Bucky his own thread. It’s a nice reminder to those who are hand wringing about iTunes top 10 placements and whether their fav will go platinum that you can come out of Idol and make a nice career for yourself without reaching those heights. He seems to be happy with a life of non-stop touring at country fairs, peanut festivals, bars and smaller venues because it beats painting cars in his father’s body shop which was what he was doing before Idol.

Really happy to see this video and Bucky having his own thread. I had tried to comment on him in 2 other threads that had articles about him …. but they got so sidetracked I gave up.

I’m very pleased with his success. He has a great voice and sweet personality. I can’t say that I’m a ‘traditional country’ fan, but I’ve enjoyed many bluegrass and rockabilly artists and music. I like this song from him.

Season 5 really had a wealth of talent and it’s good to see them still working and getting ahead. I want to hear more from Bucky.

I am not a fan of Nickelback but I like what he does with the song and I love that big, goofy smile at the end of the video (which was filmed at free concert in his hometown of Rockingham).

Gosh, I love Bucky! I’ve met him at a couple meet-n-greets and he’s a real sweetie!

I hope this song becomes his 4th top ten hit!!!!!
