Brooke White is releasing her pre-Idol CD, Songs from the Attic through New Millenium Records Group.

The disc is a compilation of Brooke’s on self-penned material, plus bonus tracks Coldplay’s “Yellow”, (Brooke is currently performing on the American Idols Live! tour), and Aerosmith’s “Dream On”.

I haven’t heard the album yet, but plan to download it today. I dig Brooke’s old-school/new-school folkie vibe.

The CD is available online at Amazon (or click on the album cover, left!) and at iTunes.

I bought it when it was added to iTunes after her elimination. It’s actually very good and my personal favorites are Free, Come to My Rescue and her cover of Dream on. This is the music video of Free if anyone is interested :)

This is a fantastic CD…and it’s kind of nice to hear her style before she was even on American Idol. Now with her greater fan base, this should do really well! Her voice is real, and that’s what I love about her.

I like the album a lot. She sounded better than she did on the show, and I find most of the songs very pleasant to listen to. I think her rendition of Yellow is especially good.

I purchased that a while ago. Good self release-type album. Solid songwriting, though the production left a little to be desired. She definitely has potential though. I would love to hear what she would sound like in the hands of better producers, engineers, etc. Her voice has even changed for the better since that was recorded, I think. Yay Brooke!

It’s nice Brooke has the control over her previous songs to re- release them.
But I sampled them months ago and frankly I wasn’t at all impressed.
Her 5 note range simply doesn’t cut it for me.

ITA and I listened to the 30 second previews again on Amazon today. Nah it’s not for me. But good for Brooke and I hope she does well.

I do think this was the best of the influential pre-Idol albums. Could it have been re-released with the help of her new record label that remains secret?

I downloaded this a couple of months ago, and while the production values are to put it politely less than stellar, I really do like it. But, I should admit, that I just really dig Brooke’s voice, so it was easy for me to like it.

I love her cover of Yellow, and I also really like Come to My Rescue – it’s a fun song. I was pretty impressed by her different take on Dream On. If you like Brooke’s voice, you’ll probably like it regardless of the production. If you’re just a medium fan, but want to try a couple of tunes, then I’d just download any of the three I mentioned. If you need a good “I just dumped my loser boyfriend” song, then I’d go with The Way Things Used to Be :)

It’s actually been re-released for quite some time now. “Yellow” and “Dream On” are not bonus tracks, they’ve been there even in the original release. It’s reached the top 10 on the iTunes Pop Chart in the US and America.

I love it. It could be so much greater though with better production that’s why I’m SO looking forward to whatever Brooke releases next, she’ll do more awesome music if better technology is available for her. But I love her voice so much, I can listen to her sing anything.
