Brent Keith – Louisville – 28 – Blanchester, OH – AuditionSemi Final Week 1AI Hollywood VideoAI Top 36 Video

You would never know it by the scant attention Brent has received on the show so far, but Brent, whose country-rocked out audition of “Can’t Get Enough of Your Love” in Louisville did not impress Simon, has a long show business resume.

He was a contestant on Nashville Star 2.   He had a song on the Dale soundtrack (a movie about the late race car driver, Dale Earnhardt Sr.–here’s the video) Here’s an amateur video of a performance while he was on a Wal-mart tour (“Found” recorded by Josh Gracin). He has a CMT music page full of performances for the country music channel.  He’s already got a fan base. Here’s Brent’s about.com page and MySpace.

Given the group he’s in I’m thinking he won’t go anywhere.
If Paula likes the other country guy I assume this one is just fodder… and maybe that’s why they’re in the same group, to make the other one sound even better.

  • gingerly

    He’s a contestant? I don’t remember him at all.

  • movin2thabeet

Brent has a very nice voice and very easy on the eyes. I’m very unhappy to hear that he’s in the top-loaded first group. Given his minimal camera time so far, the deck is heavily stacked against him.

  • NickDaddyo

I have a feeling I’ll like the guy as I hear more of him, but his only chance at this point is as a wildcard.

  • jersey

He may have a better chance then some think. If he does well, and he has a fan base that already exists thanks to “Nashville Star” he may have a leg up even though he hasn’t been seen on idol very much.

  • bean99

I liked him in the audition but don’t think he stands a chance. I can’t see him beating Danny or Anoop even if he does have a fan base. If Simon doesn’t like him there’s not much hope to be a wildcard either.

  • Dr. Tracey

I like what I saw of him, he could well be one of the three to go forward from his group.

  • revots33

I get a Chris Richardson vibe from this guy. Total fodder.

  • primeminister

Brent definitely won’t be the top male vote-getter (that will probably be Danny) but if he does well (and gets sufficiently pimped), he could either take the 3rd spot from Anoop, or beat out Michael Sarver for the wild card. Honestly, I don’t really like Brent (he’s not that impressive IMO), but it would be nice to have a mix of genres in the Top 12.

  • yeahyeahsure

He is what Idol needs right now. A male Carrie Underwood – young, mainstream, good looking country singer. Too bad he won’t make it because of the new rules. I don’t see him pulling in enough votes with just his audition being his TV time (as compared to say Danny or Anoop from his group).

  • St.Lucia

    Must be just me…

But I keep confusing HIM with Michael Sarver!!!

  • t2

What with all the “drama” this year, I forgot to remember this guy.

IMO Michael Sarver is much better.

  • erennick

IMO Michael Sarver is much better.

I haven’t heard him sing enough to decide that, but I do agree that they are direct competitors.

I hate how loaded this group is!

  • butter

His beard has an unfortunate Spencer Pratt quality about it.

  • haininh

Never heard of this one. His beard kind of scares me though.

  • kimberann

He’s a hottie. I hope he stands out in the group round though. There are too many well knows and popular contestants who are in this group.

  • marco5ny

Yuck. Poor everything that makes up a generic, second string talent out of Nashville into a cup and stir. Voila! You get this guy.

  • carolinacharms

what is going on? it’s 19 june!
