Nashville entertainment news reporter, Jimmy Carter, tweets an update this morning on what he knows about the Brad Paisley discussions with American Idol for a seat at the judges panel.

Brad Paisley still in Idol Judge discussion…face to face in La Tues.. went well and talks go on…Vegas posting NO bets right now..me 70/30

With multiple sources reporting that Brad is actually in talks, it looks like this could totally happen…

Yes, I think they will be tossing names around for awhile and once the Olympics are over and Ryan is back in place – they might make that announcement.  Seems Brad, Pharrell, and Nick Jonas are currently being discussed.

I am so doggone curious about Randy!

Yep – I think these “sound and fury but signifying nothing” attempts at committing Idolcide are hot air. Most folk who really aren’t going to do something don’t proclaim they’re not gonna do it 100x – they just do it, lol…

I think Brad’s in. I also think Randy’s in. He’s Mariah’s manager. And the show will want some familiarity on the panel.

I watch Idol more for the contestants. For me, the judges are just supporting players.

Where can I see Skylar’s fiddle player?  Would that be Ashley Clark?

That would be him. Supercute and supertalented.

Thanks.  I saw that song at the time.  I thought maybe he was on the Tour.  Ashley and Brothers will probably be in Carrie’s tour band, as per usual.

Idol’s primarily goal is producing a show that will draw the largest audience, preferably in the key demographic (18-49), so that Idol can charge the highest amount for ads aired during the show.
