    Lakisha and Gospel….that song is really pretty. And she sounds so much more relaxed.

    I remember Clive was in love with Bo and thought he would be a big star. Too sad.

    As you probably have figured out I ADORE Lakisha, and think she was one of the most gifted contestants AI has had. She looks great and sounds better here — very nice soulful vibe on a pretty gospel tune. And that voice wrapped around it….

    Really hope her freshman album gets a lot of attention, and that girlfriend has the career she deserves….

    Wow!!! LaKisha’s new song that you have posted, ‘Just As I Am’, sounds so inspirational and she really is feeling the song!!!! I can’t WAIT to buy her album.
    Some more news on LaKisha:

    Her album will be out in June and apparently has some great producers: Grammy Award Winner Tony Nicholas (Patti LaBelle, Gerald Levert, Luther Vandross), Ro & Sauce (Neyo and Brandy) and Chris Black (Yolanda Adams).

    Also she will be a judge on MTVs reality search for a Broadway Star; the TV Show will be called ‘Legally Blonde’.

    She also, in addition to putting the finishing touches to her solo cd in Houston, is planning to start an organization that provides resources and support to struggling moms.

    She will also be doing a free concert at her hometown, Flint MI, on July 12th 2008.

    Lakisha!! I love Lakisha – she is freaking awesome. Just thought I’d share that with you all. Sorry I cannot be more eloquent – but I kind of get fangirly about Lakisha – and I can’t really express myself.

    Really? I saw some previews for that and it looked kind of lame. Plus I assume it’s going to be like that show they did to cast the leads in Grease – which was horrid. Gosh Darnit – now I’m going to have to watch it. Do you know if she’s a regular, weekly judge or just on once or twice? (I don’t want to watch any more than I have to lol).

    Hearing LaKisha’s voice makes me wonder how Syesha made top 3. She wouldn’t have cracked the top 10 last year…

    OK, you started it Calimari — sorry, there was not a female voice this year that could match Kiki’s, Mindydoo’s, Jordin’s or even Stephanie Edwards, who got cut so early because the competition among the gals was so stiff.

    I know some of us disagree on Carly Smithson, but to me that was The Voice without the finesse, the feeling, or even the attitude when you compare her to women in the previous season.

    Which makes me wonder if they cut some great people this year that we never saw, or if it was just the way the chips fell. Or if they wanted a boy. Or whatever…..

    In any case, now and then just for a nice jolt I still listen to LAkisha’s “This ain’t a love song” and “Midnight Train to Georgia”, and to Melinda’s “Since You’ve Been Gone.” They really hold up……

    My son got me Bo’s album for Mother’s Day (at my request) and I’m enjoying it. It’s so much more his type of music than his first. I never did buy that one because it wasn’t the Bo I loved on the show. I hope he does well with it.
