Blake Lewis Album Clips and More

Just listened to all those clips – loved them! I’d be very surprised it A.D.D. isn’t a huge success.

Love it! I was so scared that my expectations were too high and I’d be disappointed but I’m not. I especially already love, after just one 30-second listen:

-”Whatcha Got to Lose”

I am officially really excited for this album. Hopefully he can hang in there sales-wise. If not, I’m still gonna play this to death.

Hmm, interesting. Some of it sounds like an unreleased soundtrack for a Molly Ringwald movie that never existed, some of it sounds like cheesy High School Musical stuff, and some of it sounds almost good but I’m not entirely sold on Blake’s vocals (esp. on Without You, which is kind of a pretty Keane-like song). I’ll have to wait for full songs to decide.

Is the world waiting for a return of 80s music? We’ll find out soon. I like some of the songs. I still think Blake’s vocals are the weakest part of the album. Anyway, good luck Blake.

I’m surprised that there’s no one song I don’t like! This is VERY exciting and I can’t wait for Dec 4th to come now
I do have some favourites though: Gots to Get Her, How Many Words, Here’s My Hello, I Got U, End Of The World, and 1000 miles are SO GOOD just based on the clips

Some of them need to be heard in full to be judged fairly
I also find that MJ-inspired track very interesting and fun!

Yeah, I’m waiting til I hear the full songs, because right now there a couple that I just don’t care for too much.

But so far, I hear several single contenders and a bunch of songs I really like. “Know My Name” is still my fave, though I really like “How Many Words”, “Gots to Get Her”, “End of the World”, and “I Got U”.

I would buy “How Many Words” off of the 30 second clip. The rest is more electronica than I usually like, but I will wait to hear more before I pass judgment. Something tells me that this is the kinda CD that you have to listen from start to finish to get the full effect.

You are so me! I’ve been feeling the same way, and I’m not disappointed either. I listened to them once this morning and the ones I liked the sounds of right off the bat are: Gots To Get Her, Know My Name, How Many Words, Surrender, Hate 2 Love Her, and Here’s My Hello. I just listened again and I really like End Of The World (LOVE the beat!) and 1000 Miles too…heh. So, I’m happy. Can’t wait to hear it all in HQ next Tuesday!

Here’s My Hello it’s still my personal favorite, but I love 1000 miles, End Of The World, Know My Name, How Many Words, Gots to Get Her.
I really hope this CD does well, it has potential.

For clips they were pretty good. My 2 favorites right now are Know my Name and 1000 Miles although I like most of them. I’ll be interested to hear how the album flows but so far so good.

It’s really difficult to judge on 30 second samples.

I like How Many Words a lot. I like Without You. I like 1000 Miles a little. Maybe if I heard the other songs in full, I’d like them, too.

Since I usually buy an album if I like at least two of the tracks, I’d probably buy this one.

That is, if and when it gets released in my country. *sigh*

Hi, David. I live in Manila, Philippines.

Unfortunately, we don’t have the luxury of buying individual tracks from here since the iTunes store (as well as other legit online sellers) isn’t available locally (I’m also uncomfortable buying online, anyway, lol). That is why I have to buy full (physical) albums if I want to get music. The other alternatives are buying, err, pirated copies or resorting to free file-sharing sites, such as Limewire (which I hate). Yeah…the (foreign) music industry isn’t very friendly to us poor Third-World country dwellers. Pffft.

Hey purps, I can always help you out. Just let me know. Oh, I heard about the incident and the resulting curfew on the news this morning. Hope all is okay in your city!

Thanks, too, for thinking about me in relation to that unfortunate incident. It so happens that that hotel is located two blocks away from my office. In fact, the soldiers marched right by our building to get there (my officemates were watching them walk by from the windows; I was in the washroom then, heh) and I was told there was a military sniper later positioned somewhere within our building, in case violence erupted). Fortunately, nobody was hurt before it was contained – except maybe the super-sized ego of that leader who thought an act like that would get popular support (it didn’t; it was, at the very least, ill-timed and he isn’t exactly the type of leader I would follow even if I, too, hate the guts of our sitting “president” and think he -the leader- is quite “hot,” lol).

End of the World sounds like a mix of Jordin and Backstreet boys.
