Billboard magazine checks in on how the concert touring business is doing so far in 2011. They report, “After the bloodbath of 2010, and the more moderate pain of 2009, the touring industry came into 2011 more than a little gun-shy. As we take stock of the first half of the year, you can almost hear the sigh of relief. Based on numbers reported to Billboard Boxscore, business is solid.”

It’s no surprise that U2’s 360 tour is number 1 on the list. A little bit of a surprise, to me at least, was the X Factor UK tour at #16. That tour consisted of 46 shows and earned over $17m dollars for Simon Cowell and company.
