Billboard – 01/08/11

Anyone know which position on BB200, Adam, Kris and Allison where the last day of 2009?

  • mmb

^^ don’t know the exact chart numbers ( you can probably find it in mjs archives). But Adam was somewhere in the range of the high twenties- low forties) and Kris and alli i think were out of the top fifty ( maybe Kris was still in) but still on the bb200 chart ( i think Kris was still in top 100, alli may not have been)

  • wordnerdarchie

I haven’t found the final positions yet for 2009 for Adam, Kris & Allison, but I did find the Final Billboard Charts for 2009. It’s interesting to go back & look at how all the idols charted.

Anyone know which position on BB200, Adam, Kris and Allison where the last day of 2009?

Here is the corresponding chart for the same week last year:

8 Play On, Carrie Underwood (lw 5; peak 1; wo 8)
29 For Your Entertainment, Adam Lambert (lw 29; peak 3; wo 5)
59 Kris Allen, Kris Allen (lw 56; peak 11; weaks on 6)
53 Leave This Town, Daughtry (lw 59; peak 1; wo 24)
144 All I Ever Wanted, Kelly Clarkson (lw; 143; peak 1; wo 42)
165 Just Like You, Allison Iraheta (lw 148; peak 35; wo 4)

(I think I found them all)

  • Eileen99

You remembered the Jason/Kelly duet!! I am still loving that song so much and really hopes it starts crossing over. :)

Other than that, nothing to contribute but Happy New Year!!

  • csprof

Matt’s song with Jim Brickman is at #20 this week on Billboard’s AC chart, its third straight week in the Top 20, although below last week’s peak of #16. I am happy that Matt has had so much success with this song.

  • CindyM

Adam placed two songs on 104.5 Chum FM (Toronto) Top 50 of 2010.

Thanks CindyM for the info on the 104.5 Chum fm countdown. I missed from top 10 to 2, and was just in time to hear number one which was Bad Romance. Good for Adam to have two songs on the countdown and WWFM at number 3 is pretty awesome.

I add my congrats to Adam for placing on so many international year-end charts!

Adam on here 4 times, Kris once for this Singapore station

  • Q3

98.7 FM (Singapore) is the first countdown that I have seen TFM on. There is a clear geographic trend with the Adam song placements….

FYE is making Top 10 lists all over Asia.

WWFM is making Top 10 lists in Europe and North America.

And IIHY is ending up in the middle of the countdowns all over the world.

ETA: girlygirl — do you have a good tool for getting iTunes ranks > 1,000? Thanks in advance.

Thanks Elliegrll for mentioning Magic 89.9. I wonder what that entry at #14 is? Maybe it’s some kind of mashup with Kelly C. & David C?

Year End Countdown – I think it is 2009
#1 Come Back to Me – David Cook
#2 Already Gone – Kelly Clarkson
#6 My Life Would Suck Without You – Kelly Clarkson
    #8 Permanent – David Cook
#13 Zero Gravity – David Archuleta
#14 I Do Not Hook Up & Bar Ba Sol – Kelly Clarkson & David Cook
#19 Live Like We’re Dying – Kris Allen

I haven’t looked at trying to find iTunes ranks > 1000. Sometimes on the Top 1000 charts they will list songs or albums ranked 1000+, like today with FYE the album being at 1008. Not sure why they do that though

ETA: I tried adding an extra 0 to the link where it reads limit =
but that didn’t do anything — still only gave the Top 1000 (+ a few)

WWFM was voted Song of the Year on NRJ radio in Germany: http://www.energy.de/news/lesen/article/adam-lambert-singt-deinen-song-des-jahres-2010/

Adam’s 2nd album is one of the most anticipated albums of 2011 on the Prophet Blog: http://www.theprophetblog.net/the-prophet-blogs-75-most-anticipated-albums-of-2011

Mad World was rated #3 on the top 10 iheartradio live performances: http://www.iheartradio.com/index.html

  • Q3

That Prophet Blog list of most anticipated albums of 2011 is very odd — Gaga’s album is #8 and Radiohead is only #14.

But glad Adam made the list. Also Kelly is on the list at #15.

I deleted my post after seeing that they haven’t changed the list on their website. I saw the 2010 countdown on twitter:

7 Kelly Clarkson – All I Ever Wanted
11 David Archuleta – Something About Love
    20 Adam Lambert – If I Had
22 Kris Allen – The Truth
    27 David Archuleta – Elevator

    They still love David.

    Here is the link: http://www.theprophetblog.net/the-prophet-blogs-75-most-anticipated-albums-of-2011

No David Cook on the list. (But no Madonna or U2 so he is in good company.)

The only Idols are #15 Kelly and #22 Adam.

This is an independent blogger but very knowledgeable. And not an Idol fan looking at past articles.

  • Fullmoon

That Prophet Blog list of most anticipated albums of 2011 is very odd — Gaga’s album is #8 and Radiohead is only #14.

Yeah I have seen a few anticipated list so far and GaGa(gasp!) hasn’t exactly been on the top of the lists. Radiohead I think is just about right and Fiona Apple has been on the top of the list on quite a few. I usually don’t expect any Idols other than Kelly to make these list so seeing Adam name will be fun. Maybe after the new year I’ll compile some lists.

ETA: Didn’t Madonna postpone her album to 2012?

  • Elliegrll

I like how the prophet blogger let it be known up front about how the list was compiled.

The Prophet Blog (aka ME!) is proud to present you with my official 75 Most Anticipated Albums of 2011 list.

I not only compiled this list from my own wants, but also consulted with friends, other bloggers, and of course all of you guys who follow me on Twitter and Facebook and sent in your suggestions.

Hey, If your hoping Idols make these kind of lists, think again. LOL. Like I said Kelly is the ONLY one I would expect.

  • isisdagmar

    I like that write-up:

    22. Adam Lambert – Untitled Sophomore Album (TBA)

From American Idol gimmick to bonafide pop superstar, Adam Lambert became a surprisingly big deal in 2010. Now that Glambert’s established himself, he’ll have more freedom with his next album, which he says will be more in the vein of his biggest hit to date, “Whataya Want From Me”. Rocky Glambert? Yes please.

obviously “superstar” is the normal hyperbole in talking about famous artists, but it does seem like Adam did do surprisingly well, or is surprisingly relevant (pop radio, the grammy, etc.). Which is cool to see, for fans.

and yeah, I don’t get it–don’t most bloggers just offer their opinion? It’s not like they normally write “These are the 75 albums that everyone in the world is empirically looking forwards to in 2011″–it’s just his picks (or his friends and fellow bloggers).

It’s cool to see Adam talked about that way and on that kind of list with independent-of-idol music blogs. :)

And I’m really excited about about 7 of the other albums on that list. :D

Adam made my local pop stations year end countdown too. 106.1 KissFM
At #45 of the Top 50 nice little write up too

With ‘If I Had You’ Adam Lambert proved that he could achieve post ‘Idol’ success. He received a Grammy nomination and also served as an inspiration to the LGBT community.

hehe HSS made it to #29

My local HAC station has quiet a few idol in their Top 10 for 2010

It’s unsurprising — but still very nice — to see Kris, Adam, Chris D and Kelly on so many of these year-end charts. I’m assuming when/if country stations post their countdowns, Carrie will be all over those (and we might see some Kellie and maybe the occasional Danny or Bucky)

U2 just did an interview and confirmed that their album will be out in Spring 2011. So all I can say is that Spring 2011 is gonna be packed with new albums. Someone major will move to Fall because it is too competitive.

Madonna album was pushed from 2010 to 2011; tour pushed from 2011 to 2012. I believe that the album is done and they are just waiting for a good window — which means away from Gaga’s and Britney’s releases.

Kris also made this countdown with LLWD at #60.

Totally not surprised to see LLWD etting a spot on this chart, the song got a LOT of radio support in NZ, was in the top 10 for about 4 weeks iirc. The sales just didn’t match the airplay.

Really surprised to see FYE so high on the list though. That song never broke the airplay top 10 unlike LLWD, WWFM & IIHY. Perhaps it was a little like WWFM in the US? Actually ended up with tonnes of airplay, but because the adds were so staggered it never broke top 10 (on CHR at least)

ETA: Or maybe it is just a favorite songs list rather than an airplay one – ‘radio top 100′ leads me to airplay by default.

  • kidding

Really surprised to see FYE so high on the list though.

Wasn’t FYE the first single in NZ as well? If so, it has had a longer time to accumulate spins than Adam’s other singles. I thought that a lot of these countdowns are based on the total number of spins during the year. Or maybe not…
