Gangnam Style is about to cross 1 billion views on YouTube.

Has “Oath” by Cher Lloyd dropped off the pop chart? It’s a shame, she’s super talented. I hope she has another smash!

  • Kirsten

Has “Oath” by Cher Lloyd dropped off the pop chart?

It is 31st on the Mainstream Top 40 (aka Pop) and 35th on the Pop Digital chart. Those charts are two that aren’t usually reported here.

  • samuelgrant

    Aah, okay. Thanks!

  • Anny_nanny

    I already gave a link.
“With six No. 1s, how does “Home” compare to all previous Idol victory tunes? Kelly Clarkson’s “A Moment Like This” topped three charts (The Billboard Hot 100, Hot Singles Sales and Adult Contemporary Recurrents), Fantasia’s “I Believe” ruled four charts (Hot 100, Hot 100 Singles Sales, Pop 100, Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles Sales), Carrie Underwood’s “Inside Your Heaven” reigned over four charts (Hot Country Singles Sales, Hot 100, Pop 100 and Hot 100 Singles Sales), Taylor Hicks’ “Do I Make You Proud” led three charts (Hot 100, Hot 100 Singles Sales and Pop 100), David Cook’s
“The Time of My Life” set a new record by topping five charts (Hot
Digital Songs, Hot Digital Tracks, Adult Contemporary, Adult
Contemporary Audience and Adult Contemporary Recurrents), Lee DeWyze’s “Beautiful Day” went to No. 1 on one chart (Rock Digital Songs) and Scotty McCreery’s
“I Love You This Big” held first place on one chart (Country Digital
Songs). That means “Home” has held sway over more Billboard charts than
any other coronation song, breaking the record established by Cook four
    years ago.”

I like statistics, it is interesting.

When Home hit platinum with no signs of slowing down I predicted it would go 2x platinum, and some scoffed at that because at the time it was such a rare feat for those Idols not named Carrie/Kelly/Chris. I’m calling it, P2 is going platinum with this album. It may be a slow climb but he’ll get there. When AI starts and they start pimping him, he comes back to perform, etc, he’ll get get bumps. His numbers are holding up better than I ever predicted.

I think both questions were rhetorical.

  • IrisandLilies

You are in good company with your prediction.  When interviewed about Phillip’s album, Jimmy Iovine predicted it would go platinum.

    http://www.usatoday.com/story/life/music/2012/11/19/idol-phillip-phillips-album-world-from-the-side-of-the-moon/1714849/

I have seen numerous posters on the internet comment that they love/like every single song on the album, which is something that they can’t say for a lot of albums.  I’ve also seen posters note that they like so many songs on the album they have difficulty picking a favorite.  The other thing I’ve noticed when reading comments and reviews about the album is that everyone is all over the place as to which song(s) is/are their favorite(s) on the album.

  • tripp_ncwy

NoBo was DOA from note one.

  • heike hoffmann

If the predictions hold, Phillips album could reach gold by the end of the year ( assuming sale-drops of about 50 percent next week).

  • girlygirltoo

it sold triple the amount that Lee’s coronation song did. So if Beautiful Day topped a chart, why wouldn’t NoBo have done so as well?

  • girlygirltoo

nope,  they were genuine questions. :)

  • Anny_nanny

BB does not want to be recognized. Anyone can’t revive this corpse. lol
    What is DOA?

Lack of a sufficiently obscure chart. BD got its #1 on Rock Digital Songs. There doesn’t seem to be a Played Only On AC And Maybe A Little HAC Digital Songs chart.

  • Incipit

    What is DOA?

It stands for ‘Dead On Arrival’, which it was for sure on the Season 8 Top 2 – and so awkward, with one of the co-writers sitting there in the judges chair, and she couldn’t even defend it as a good song for either of the finalists to sing, let alone a well-written one.

  • girlygirltoo

lol, well why isn’t there? there are already 84,213 BB charts, what’s one more? :D

  • Anny_nanny

    Thanks!
