Idols/AGTers did on them this week. Please feel free to post rankings from your favourite BB chart or any other numbers you care to share. This is the daily numbers thread. The date in the header is the published chart date.

One Direction is dominating the charts this week littering the Digital charts with their songs. They top the BB200, Digital and Internet album charts (by a mile) which makes them the Hot Shot Debut on the Digital and BB200 charts (for some reason, the Internet album chart prefers not to give accolades). Their song, “Little Things” is also the Hot Shot debut on the Hot 100 and Digital Songs charts. Susan Boyle’s “The Gift” is the Pace Setter on the BB200 while Colton Dixon scores the Hot Shot Debut on CAC.

*Note: For some reason, the Holiday album chart does not seem to have been updated. The date is wrong and it has albums being new that were new on the BB200 last week.

    ITunes:

  • OffLeash

Home made the top 10 on the AC chart today. Won’t last long because all the Xmas songs are flying up the chart.

  • Anny_nanny

    Hmm. ITunes now:
    1. P!nk – The Truth About Love
    2. Phillip Phillips – The World from the Side of the Moon (Deluxe)
    3. Rihanna – Unapologetic (Deluxe Version)
    4. Kid Rock – Rebel Soul
    5. Coldplay – Live 2012

  • dd999

Of course I’m watching the ratings for “Christmas With Scotty McCreery” and according to all the charts (that people are kind  to show us), I’m glad to see its fairing very well to-date! Yay!

  • OffLeash

Ha. Home is still showing at #4 at iTunes for now, until next time I check, and it’ll be gone again. It’s one of the only two songs in the top 10 that aren’t new releases, with fun.’s “Some Nights.” The latter is about as old as Home, and is an even mightier beast with over 3 mil downloads already. My 2 favorite songs in the top 10.

Now I’m rooting for Youngblood Hawke’s “We Come Running” to achieve the same level of success. Might take a while though. :)

  • Hazehel

Home is still showing at #4 at iTunes for now, until next time I check, and it’ll be gone again.

Seems to be stable now for a while, and “Home” hasn’t disappeared the last few times I checked.   Actually it’s very interesting if you look at kworb which has the chart for last day or two -  http://kworb.net/pop/

You will note that when “Home” disappeared, Cassadee Pope’s Over You from The Voice was #1, but when “Home” came back, then you see Cassadee started moving down about 27 hours ago.  It flipped between #1 and a lower position the same time as Home disappeared and reappeared.  This suggests to me that they are using two charts for iTunes, and for some reason one of them wasn’t updating properly.   This would explain some odd observations I have seen in the past (chart positions flipping up and down).  Hope they have fixed it now.

  • IrisandLilies

Phillip’s album is really hanging in there.  It’s currently no. 4 on iTunes, and the three albums ahead of it are all albums that have just been reduced to $6.99.  Even the two albums that follow it on the chart (i.e.  a Bob Seger’s greatest hits album and The Lumineers) are going for $6.99.  Rihanna’s Deluxe album (explicit) has dropped to no. 7.  Nicki Minaj’s new album, which came out the same day as Phillip’s, is down to no. 47.   I wonder if this is any indication that the album will have some legs.  Most of the comments on iTunes relating to the album are from AI fans.

  • girlygirltoo

Phillip’s got a big banner on the main iTunes page for his album. I looked for that when his album dropped on Monday, but didn’t see one. Wonder how long it’s been on there?

  • OffLeash

P2′s Deluxe album is #2 at iTunes, and spent half the week at that spot. Rihanna’s deluxe album spent half the week lower than P2′s, but her regular album always placed much higher than P2′s too, so she sold much more albums overall than P2 at iTunes.

Kid Rock, who was predicted to be #2, ranked lower than P2 the last few days also. It’ll be interesting to find out who gets the #2 spot of P2 or Kid Rock. If P2 sells in the higher bracket and Kid Rock in the lower, it could be a photo finish. :)

  • IrisandLilies

I’m wondering if the price reductions on The Lumineers’ album and Mumford & Sons’ Sigh No More steered some customers Phillip’s way.  Some internet posters have even compared Phillip to Coldplay in sound, so perhaps the price reduction on Coldplay’s Live 2012 album also helped as well.

By the way, I noticed a difference in the rankings of albums on the front page of the iTunes store and the album page.  Rihanna’s album is no. 1 on the front page but no. 5 on the album page.  Likewise, Kid Rock’s album is no. 3 on the front page but no. 8 on the album page.  Phillip’s album is no. 2 on both pages.

  • LongKissGoodnight

Lol, do my eyes deceive me, or is it “Home” sitting pretty at number 2 on i-tunes?

    1    PSY – Gangnam Style (?????)    1.0000
    2    Phillip Phillips – Home    0.8828
3    Bruno Mars – Locked Out of Heaven    0.8672
    4    Ke$ha – Die Young    0.8438
    5    The Lumineers – Ho Hey     0.7500

I swear, this song gets more winds then a wind turbine in the middle of Holland. %)))

  • OffLeash

I just posted the news on another thread LOL. Missed this thread for some reason. Will this song ever slow down?

  • tigervixxxen

    So no weekend numbers thread?

I’m very interested in seeing how Home does for the week. As the weeks ramp up to the end of the year digital download sales do well so a high charting song stands to do really well.

Also, just saw a YouTube of a commercial for Beats/Radio Shack that uses Gone, Gone, Gone. So the logical thing would be for that to be the second single. Right? Lol

  • OffLeash

Holy Moly! I took one last look at the iTunes chart for the day, and the way Home (still #2) is gaining on PSY, I won’t be surprised to see Home topping the chart tomorrow AGAIN! Unreal!

  • http://twitter.com/CanadianLady2 CanadianLady

Phillip’s album appeared to be #2 in Canada, too. That impressed me.

  • JudyOhio

Was there ever an update on Friday from HDD on album estimates?  Very interested to see where PP ends up!  Am missing Pam in the numbers thread, hope she is ok and all.

  • girlygirltoo

I see Home as #7 on the iTunes singles chart — not #2.

  • girlygirltoo

Nope. Because of the Thanksgiving holiday, HDD didn’t published an updated estimate.

  • tigervixxxen

I see Home #2 on both my iTunes and live pop bars. But most importantly Kworb has it at 2 as well http://kworb.net/pop/

  • sdmama

When I launch iTune, it looks like Home is at #7 on home page, but when you expand to see All Songs, it showed up as #2. Go back to home page, and now it is reordered to be #2. I think we collectively found software bug in iTune app.

#7 would have been impressive enough, but #2 is mind boggling to me.  I also did not expect album to do this well, either,  compared to Home as a single. I like this kind of music, but I thought it was out of style. ;)
