Colton Dixon’s You Are going for adds today!

  • girlygirltoo

It’s only being sent to Christian radio, right?

There are 38 monitored Christian AC radio stations on Mediabase.

(Also, why is it being sent for adds on a Friday? The reporting deadline for CAC stations is Monday at 11 AM Pacific time. Very few stations add stuff over the weekend, so I’m not sure what the point is, of sending it out today)

Also, why is it being sent for adds on a Friday?

In honor of Dixon’s 21st birthday. I doubt anybody expects adds to be reported to Mediabase over the weekend.

His adds so far have been on Christian CHR, as defined by Radio & Records (which is BDS, not Mediabase), so I dunno how clearly his progress will be reflected on the Mediabase Christian AC panel.

  • girlygirltoo

Lots of changes to the Mediabase panel starting this coming week, including two formerly HAC format stations that are pretty Idol friendly moving to CHR.

    Full list of changes HERE:

I don’t know, because all the stations that are showing up on Mediabase as having played “You Are” at all in the last reporting period are listed as Christian AC. According to Mediabase, the song has zero official adds.

These are the 6 stations listed on Mediabase as having spun You Are (1 spin each)

    KLJC (Kansas City)
    KLTY (Dallas)
    KTIS (Minneapolis)
    WCSG (Grand Rapids)
    WJQK (Grand Rapids)
    WFSH (Atlanta)

Any of these stations listed on R&R for “You Are”?

  • lufausljc

One of them is WPZL Indianapolis, the station that has been playing “Home” more than any other HAC station. blah.. don’t like this change.

  • http://twitter.com/eilonwya10 Eilonwy

I missed a week of R&R and don’t know if anything at all happened that week, but I can supply two Christian CHR adds that aren’t on your Christian AC list.

I’m 90% sure the add I saw on October 5 was KXAZ (Phoenix).
The one on the chart that’s available today is WBVM (Tampa Bay).

Yes.com is showing spins for 10/14 and 10/15 on:
WCRJ (Detroit, but it’s public and probably not on any panel)
    KXOJ (Tulsa)
and then a few that are just listed as Air1 (the Christian CHR network) or KLOVE (the Christian AC network)

But for some reason, Yes.com isn’t going forward to the present, and I don’t understand it well enough to kick it and make it work.

I’m not sure Mediabase recognizes the concept of Christian CHR or has stations in that format report to it… I’ll do some digging over the weekend if somebody else doesn’t get there first, as I’d like to understand what we’re measuring, and the one sure thing with CCM is that it doesn’t behave quite like the mainstream genres do.

  • fuzzywuzzy

Adele deserves it. An amazing singer/songwriter who has achieved spectacular international commercial success.

  • girlygirltoo

Why not? It’ll give Home a big boost on the pop chart.

Weekend update from HDD. Jason’s predicted sales are higher than the one-day sales (385-410). The prediction for Scotty’s sales are the same as the one-day sales:

NEXT WEEK’S TOP 15: Jason Aldean will give RED the top two albums of the week, the top two debuts of the year and fourth week at #1 behind three weeks for Mumford & Sons. A different Red will take over next week, however, as Taylor Swift’s new album is expected to push 1m in first-week sales.  Oh, and Sony could see as many as six titles in the Top 10. Here’s how it looks headed into the weekend.

    * Jason Aldean (Broken Bow) 400-420kMumford & Sons (Glassnote) 75-80k* Brandy (RCA) 65-70k* Scotty McCreery (19/Mercury Nashville/Interscope) 35-40k P!nk (RCA) 30-35k* Jamey Johnson (Mercury Nashville) 27-30k Miguel (RCA) 21-24kLittle Big Town (Capitol Nashville) 21-24kAdele (XL/Columbia) 19-22kKiss (UMe) 17-20kMacklemore & Ryan Lewis (Macklemore) 17-20k* Anberlin (Republic) 17-20kMuse (Warner Bros.) 17-20kMGK (Interscope) 17-20k*Metalocalypse: Dethklok (Williams Street) 15-18k

Like we said, numbers are sexy. (10/18p)

Wow at Jason Aldean. And triple Wow at Taylor Swift’s projected first week.

  • lufausljc

Yeah you’re right. I went through the whole list and considering more HAC stations are being added than dropped, hopefully the total number of spins will be balanced after all.
