Wonder where Colton’s single is going to land.

It’d really have to hold up well over the weekend to have a shot at the Hot 100 (especially since it has no airplay and that’s a component of the chart), but it’s extremely rare for CCM singles to make the Hot 100, so that’s no surprise. A decent “Bubbling Under” chart position could happen. (ETA: TobyMac has a serious hit by CCM standards and its peak so far is just outside the Hot 100. So… THAT rare.)

This release is basically Sparrow’s test of how big a fan base Dixon brings to the table. So far, it looks like he has a pretty good-sized base by genre standards. Not the biggest evah (and we don’t know what proportion are consistently “into” CCM and will stick around for future releases)… but not chopped liver.

Next question is how eagerly Christian radio embraces the other song, the radio single. Although it had an official debut on the Air-1 network recently, I think its add date is actually in October (to go with the planned radio tour); so unsurprisingly, it’s not on the Christian CHR or Christian AC top-30 charts yet.

Glad to hear that Eighteen Inches help at 40 on Billboard. I have read that it should move up with some recurrents expected soon.
