So glad Gonex3 was chosen for Phillip’s 2nd single. It has great potential. Find myself humming it all the time.

GGG is starting off very well on radio. It just needs to spark up the sales on iTunes. Home was a sales machine from day #1 but GGG is operating more like a regular HAC single.

I really don’t think that sticking around #150 on i-tunes is a norm for a HAC/Alternative single with only ~4K AI.
As a matter of fact I tried and could not find another recently released song from a new HAC/AAA/Alt. act with similarly AI to sales proportion.

The only 2 new alt. songs that are doing decisively better then GGG (that I could find) are Imagine Dragon’s Demons. But that is a group with 2 simultaneous smashes on POP/HAC and Alternative that has been gathering interest for a long time now and experiencing that break throw into the untapped pool of mainstream audience, so of course their i-tunes page has a lot of traffic. (Plus I am fairly certain that Demons has that commercial appeal to develop into POP hit/smash, quite possible the biggest of 3).
And another song is released just this week first single from group Phoenix, that had a #1 Alternative hit from their gold certified last album.

And Home was in a different situation all together. It was debuted in front of millions of people and if you remember actually received some POP airplay first weeks after Idol. And actually entered top 50 on POP (before falling out).

If you could provide examples of new songs from HAC/Alt. acts that are doing better I’m definitely interested, but my impression is that GGG’s progress in spins and sales are very good and without a high profile performance it would be unreasonable to demand more.

I remember tracking  Somebody That I Used to Know from it’s first adds and how mindblowing slow, excruciatingly long (at least that’s how it felt) it took for US mainstream radio to get on with a program. And that was a song that by that time conquered half of the world.
    So… a little patience? %))
lf all goes well we will be tracking this song for half a year. Brace yourself ;)
