Look at Scotty’s CAD – he is back on tour and look at the jump.  Still selling just fine.  I am really excited for his new music. Hope we have a singer to chart soon

    Now itunes # 546

Nothing personal against Scotty who I like and think has a great career but this probably means he’s selling 50-100 copies of his album weekly on iTunes. It’s a very insiginifcant number.

If you look at Billboard the #200 best selling album probably sells 2-3,000 units a week (about 15% of that sold on iTunes). So do the math and see how few albums iTunes sells when you get away from the top 200.

LongKissGoodnight can you try to explain the itunes move like it keeps going up even if it’s still in the top 200 (not for too long though, i hope) ?

And after a week of radio release, what’s you take on the song ?

can you try to explain the itunes move like it keeps going up even if
it’s still in the top 200 (not for too long though, i hope) ?

And after a week of radio release, what’s you take on the song?

I think it’s partially because of all new HAC stations that have added the song or started spinning and are about to add.

But mostly because of the video debut => it’s being covered on various blogs, therefor reaching new ears. At this level it does not take a whole lot of purchases to improve song’s standing, so…

Also let’s not forget about Grammy effect. Besides the songs that were performed during telecast and for most part were already higher then GGG, there was a lot of older hits from artists who appeared that also got a boost. They should be sliding beck by now.

As for GGG’s radio performance, I am very comfortable with it so far.

It did not get the red carpet greeting reserved for formats royalties. But updates has been very solid, healthy and consistent (even more so on HAC). That’s IMHO is what you want to see when radio is checking out the new single from someone they have not necessary made up their mind about yet.

So what I expect/hope to see is Phillip continue touring while dropping by various radio station & winning one PD at a time. GGG continues rising on i-tunes and radioplay.(hopefully with the help of  more TV commercials and late night shows live performances) and when, and this is a pure guess work. But I could totally see, that when in a couple month GGG is in or near top 10 on AAA & HAC TPTB decide to use one more push to help it crossover to POP => so they play the ace card – Idol performance slot, coinciding with adds date on CHR.

Ideally I would prefer to hold off on Idol performance, and let (again ideally) the song to crossover on it’s own and than use this additional exposure around the time when it’s approaching it’s Hot 100 peak to get to a highest position possible. But I kind of suspect that GGG will behave similarly to Home and is going to take it’s sweet time to develop on CHR, so by the time it’s peaking it might be already summer, and Idol season done and finished.

Anyway, that my two twenty two cents. %)

Guess who is #1 on iTunes UK right now? Simon’s goldmine.

Their charity single was released to iTunes worldwide today.

GGG is #1 on the Taking Off Chart for both Triple A and HAC (again). Looking very good for the song.

I think what they were saying is it is good to see a sales bump up for Scotty’s CAD since he is touring again.  This means new fans buying his music from seeing him on the road.  So that is the good news.  Case in point – a tweet from this weekend.

@SheennaSosa:  Just saw/heard @scottymccreery for the first time today.  You can say he has a new fan.

  • jpfan2

I understand fans are happy to see any sign sales are going up but the #500 album on iTunes isn’t selling bupkus. I also don’t think touring sells alot of units because if you’re not already a fan why buy a ticket to the show.

I do think the promo associated with touring is good though. Radio interviews, local press, positive reviews, etc. That’s all good stuff.
