According to Allaccess Gone, Gone, Gone is going for AAA adds on February 11.

Poster on pulse wrote that this is also the add date for HAC, and that certainly would make sense, but GGG is not listed amongst impacting songs in HAC section, so no conformation yet.

    I am so ready! %))

I am eager to report some news about Gone, Gone, Gone but with adds date being more than two weeks away there is not much to say yet, so a few observations about our old buddy Home.

First of all the return of Idol has certainly served as immune-boasting vaccine against reducing airplay and age of the song, but buy now the effect has evaporated, so yesterday Home has finally slipped out of top 10 on i-tunes, now holding at #11.
Typically when a former smash loses the additional exposure of top 10 it tends to fall rather radically in positions, stabilizing somewhere in the 20th.
So it will be interesting to see what will become of Home.

I kind of feel that with longevity being the strongest suet of the song so far it is more likely to stick in top 15 for a while and slow-drift down as opposite to a sharp fall.

Also on the radio side of things Home seems to be gearing up for a prolonged run as AC’s #1.
It is close to 2000 spins and 14.000 AI a week right now, and the only song with enough momentum to challenge it’s rule is Some Nights that is currently #9 and has a bit less than half the spins and bit more than half of Home’s airplay, which means it is 5-6 weeks away if Home remains stable, and even longer if it gains some more, which I think it will.
There is also a chance that if/hopefully when Gotye’s “Somebody That I Used To Know” wins it’s well deserved Grammy, PD’s might double down on this modern day classic, but even if it manager to push Home down from the top position, I expect the affect to be short lived.

So  it  finally happened and Home is out of the top 10.  Hopefully it can crank out 80-90K in sales this week which would put it at over 3,800,000 sold. The more the better as Home spins will decrease as GGG spins increase. That’s the way it’s supposed to go anyway. ;0

P2 is now on one of those never ending tours that successful Idols go on. I’m sure it’s good for the pocketbook if nothing else. As long as P2 is playing to new ears every night and not the same OTT fans it’s ok. It does appear that his college gigs are full of college students so that’s a good sign. In the end it’s going to be all about the singles anyway.

  • LongKissGoodnight

Aaaaaaand Home had slipped back into top 10 again!.. LOL

    10. Phillip Phillips – Home 0.3203

We will probably see a few more in and out jumps before it is finally out for good.
I am expecting 90-100k for this week btw.

  • http://twitter.com/frazzledsoul K

Actually, P2 is on tour with Matchbox Twenty for the next two months.

But if that doesn’t fit in with the typical Idol assumptions, go on believing the opposite if it suits you.

  • TheOther

Actually, P2 is on tour with Matchbox Twenty for the next two months.

Phillip is only doing shows with MB20 for 1 month – from 1/29 – 2/27.  His schedule is now quickly filling up with more college tour dates.

  • jpfan2

“But if that doesn’t fit in with the typical Idol assumptions, go on believing the opposite if it suits you”

Aside from opening for Matchbox 20, P2 appears to be building up a solid schedule of college gigs. I’m not sure what Idol assumptions you’re referring to.

I think touring is great but the most important event for P2′s career is another hit single. Is that even debatable?

Seems Gone, Gone, Gone is about to receive it’s first HAC add!

Station Market Format TW LW Move ovn am mid pm eve Aud

I am guessing this an Idol-friendly station.
It was one of the early adopters of Home, added it right after the finale.

    KCIX-FM Boise, ID Hot AC 9 0 9 4 0 2 1 2 0.0082
I am guessing this an Idol-friendly station.

KCIX is very Idol-friendly along with its sister station, KWYE in Fresno.  I would be very surprised if Fresno isn’t also spinning it, if Boise is.  They always add together.

  • LongKissGoodnight

    to Eileen99
KWYE is not spinning it yet, but thank you for info. %)

Btw, 2 AAA stations that have already added and are spinning GGG:

    KTCZ-FM, Minneapolis
    51 20 PHILLIP PHILLIPS     Gone, Gone, Gone 34 13 21 0.3282
    CIDR-FM, Detroit
    46 35 PHILLIP PHILLIPS     Gone, Gone, Gone 10 8 2    0.0349

Which means 44 spins and 0.3631 AI total.
The #50 on the chart has 63 spins and 0.319 AI

One or two more stations jumping on board should be enough to allow GGG to enter the AAA chart.

Isn’t Home the oldest song in top 10? This is amazing. I guess the radio is supporting this continuing sale of the song.

I can hardly wait until he sings Gone Gone Gone on American Idol, and see what that does. Though AAA looks like his new home and he may have moved on from American Idol fan bubble, I still assume that there is no chance that American Idol is going to pass the chance to invite its poster boy back to perform.
