Billboard – Chart Date 11/17/12

*Updated With Colton’s Number ones (thanks idolbeat)

As we all know, there are approximately 55,123 Billboard charts. This is a summary of just some of those charts and how the Idols/AGTers did on them this week. Please feel free to post rankings from your favourite BB chart or any other numbers you care to share. This is the daily numbers thread. The date in the header is the published chart date.

Colton Dixon achieves two number ones this week. His new song “You Are” topped both the Christian Digital Songs and Christian/Gospel Digital Songs charts (this is his second time to achieve this). One Direction refuses to give up the top slot on the Hot Single Sales chart. Jackie Evancho from AGT tops the Classical Cross-Over chart for another week with “Songs from the Silver Screen”.

I read on BB that Colton had 2 #1’s. THR reported.

I read on BB that Colton had 2 #1’s. THR reported.

That was when Dixon released the song he’d performed on the Idol tour, back in September or early October. Here’s the Hollywood Reporter article from October 4, with the two #1s (Christian Digital Songs and combined Christian/Gospel Digital Songs).

The song he just released last week is the one that went to radio on 10/19. Idol Chatter reported 16,000 in sales for this one. He probably did well on the same charts, but as far as I can tell, they’re pay-only access at Billboard, so we have to wait for somebody to write another article. His radio play isn’t sufficient to get him into the freely available Hot Christian Songs top 25.

  • idolbeat

This was from 2 days ago – let me see if I can find it – it was for both songs I think.

  • http://twitter.com/eilonwya10 Eilonwy

You’re right — the new THR article was sneaky and hid, but it does exist (if I think I’m likely wrong, I go help look to prove it, since I kinda want to know).

Dixon’s radio single did hit #1 on both of the same sales charts this week. So that’s four #1s for him, albeit on small charts. But they’re the charts in the genre he wants to be in.

  • idolbeat

I just found it – thought I was going crazy until I remembered that I RT’d it on twitter. :) Yes, Kelly and Phillip were the lead stories!

  • EvenMoreron

That iTunes chart up above is missing Sylvia Yacoub’s “The One That Got Away”.  Ironic!

I read on BB that Colton had 2 #1’s. THR reported.

Thanks. I don’t normally report those charts, but I like to point out number ones.

Colton’s “You Are” topped the Christian Digital Songs and Christian/Gospel Digital Songs (as Eilonwy predicted).

Please note that this is the Current Albums chart, not the BB200. Essentially that just means its the BB200 without the catalog albums. The really nice thing is we get exact sales numbers! Those are so hard to come by anymore. Damn the man!! lol
