happyhexer: Question for Windmills (not Idol-related):

What do you think would be a good new single for David Nail to release?

My vote went to Catch You While I Can for something with a little more tempo. Both big hits David’s had so far has been a ballad and I think he needs to not fall into a rut there. CYWIC has a great little melody, pretty lyrics, and David sounds really good on it. I wouldn’t mind Half Mile Hill being the next single either. IMO Sound Of A Million Dreams has to be released eventually but not next. I’d also like Songs For Sale for a single but they didn’t include that in the 5 choices they listed (CYWIC, HMH, SOAMD, That’s How I’ll Remember You, I Thought You Knew).

By the way Kirsten, Scotty apparently closed his Brad set tonight with Walk In The Country ;)

Jan 13, 2012Your Random Weekend MemoBy Brian MansfieldAlso, I got some late Nielsen SoundScan numbers that should please a couple of fanbases: Adam Lambert’s Better Than I Know Myself sold 6,000 downloads last week (-66%, 66,000 release-to-date), and Clay Aiken’s new single Bring Back My Love sold about 400, for a total of 5,000.

Oh, and Scotty did sing “Better than that” too – I just haven’t found the fancam for it yet.

    A really good setlist!

She still has one album and one compilation album left with RCA… I think that might be extended soon since Stronger is doing well. Although, rumor has it that Columbia, Epic, and Interscope are trying to get their hands on her.

6000 seems like a good number for a week with very little promo and it is still way behind on radio, so it’s still all just beginning!

“i think the world of kelly and i’m glad she found a friend in reba.  i
think that’s been the best thing for her.  (i think i’ll go watch their
first duet from 2002 in vegas)”

    Do you mean this one?

It’s one of my favorites.  :)

I hadn’t heard those rumors, but I’m not surprised that other labels are interested in Kelly. I hope that this latest album puts her in a strong bargaining position so that she can decide from a lot of offers.

RCA, Colombia and Epic are all divisions of Sony Music. Would Sony really let its divisions get into a bidding war for the same artist? Interscope is with UMG so I can see it trying to get Kelly away from Sony.
