Big Machine Label Group Signs The Voice Winner Danielle Bradbery (She Begins Recording on Monday!)

The Powers That Be are wasting no time with newly-minted The Voice winner, Danielle Bradbery! Look at the tweet sent out today by Big Machine Records:

According to Entertainment Weekly, Danielle will begin recording her debut album on Monday!

The label, run by Nashville Guru, Scott Borchetta is responsible for launching Taylor Swift into the stratosphere. They are also the label (Republic Nashville is the imprint) that picked up last season’s pop-turned-country winner, and another Blake Shelton team member, Cassadee Pope. Her single, “Wasting All These Tears” already has a ton of country radio adds. We’ll see if the stations actually play it.

But I don’t think Blake is worried about Cassadee at the moment. He told reporters after The Voice finale last night, that he has found a genuine country star:

“I’ve been trying this since day one. I’ve made no bones about the fact that I want to win this thing with a country artist. And anybody who doesn’t like it can kiss my ass,”

Kissing Blake’s ass appeared to be the theme of last night’s win.

“I never had found exactly the artist who could take us to the finale,” says Shelton. “For whatever reason, we’ve stumbled along the way and it’s taken until season four to come up with the right country artist.”

I guess Cassadee doesn’t count, because she insisted throughout the competition that she was a pop/rock artist singing country covers assigned to her by Blake.

“I wanted to make sure Nashville respected her as much as they could,” says Shelton. “Obviously she’s an incredible vocalist, but I wanted them to know that she respects country music. That’s why we kept throwing it back to artists from ten, twenty years ago.”

And that nostalgia didn’t help a bit with The Voice viewers. Heh.

Congrats Danielle. Lets hope Borchetta has some of that Taylor mojo leftover for you.
