Big Brother Season 15 Episode 2 Recap and Discussion *Updated With Videos**

It’s the first Sunday of the Big Brother season and already the house has fallen apart. Usually it takes a few weeks for this much hatred to be seen but not for Season 15. Also it is usually a minority of the cast that shows such horrible personalities but this season it is a majority of people that are just not fun to watch.

If you read Adam’s daily update you know about all the negative stuff that is going down and if you have watched Big Brother before you know it will properly get much worse on the Live Feeds. I say the Live Feeds because we all know that the producers and CBS will pretend none of this has happened.

It has left me conflicted. Part of me loves the show and gets addicted to it while the other half is an Aboriginal living in a country that doesn’t really treat aboriginals well. I am sensitive when it comes to bigotry and racism. It’s hard to sit back and watch the show. It’s not something I want to support or be subjected to. I see enough of that garbage in real life and TV is supposed to be an escape.

But I did make a commitment to recap the season and I want to sit back and hope that these people get put in their place and sent home really quickly. Just be advised that I properly won’t be objective in my recaps/power rankings. I am sure my dislike for certain cast members will come through if something goes their way and my enjoyment at seeing them fail will be highlighted. Either way hopefully you stick with our recaps here at MJ’s.

I will be back later with my recap of tonight’s episode so as always feel free to discuss the episode below.

————————————————————————————————————————————————

We open the show up right after Julie lets the house quests know about the Big Brother MVP. She lets them know that the MVP does not need to share the information which means someone will definitely share the information.

The house quests are talking about how much the MVP twist can change the game because you have to be nice to everyone. Aaryn says that the MVP is an awesome idea because she thinks she will win it more than once.  Knowing what I know I am actually glad America jumped on the Elissa band wagon and I hope they stay on it. Just keep it away from Aaryn.

Jeremy and Judd talk about the beautiful women in the house. Jeremy says he will need to snuggle with all of them and that should be easy since he says he has all the charms. He’s kind of a douche.

The ladies are in the bathroom chatting about the guys because this is the ABC’s The Bachelor. Oh wait it’s Big Brother where you are playing to stab everyone else in the back so why not focus on the hot guys which is pretty much everyone since Big Brother has to fill the quota of having at least 12 beautiful house quests ever season.

They go on to create code names for the hottest guys:

David = Ken

Nick = Big (started as Manhattan which I liked better than a crappy reference to Sex and The City)

Jeremy = The Sailor

It’s actually funny watching them talk about Jeremy and his nasally voice. Show much for being totally charming.

McCrae gets to show off his Head of House room. While the room did look cool it sucks that there was no personal items like family portraits. I like seeing those little touches.  McCrae says that he will not let the HoH go to his head like past house quests. Evil Dick and Rachel are specific mentioned and ridiculed which is awkward for Elissa since they are making fun of her sister and there is nothing she can do about it.

We get some hacky sack outside between Nick and Spencer which leads to some alliance talk. Nick’s idea is to have an alliance consisting of himself, Jeremy, Spencer, Howard, and McCrae since he is head of house. Jeremy wants to include a girl but Nick shuts it down saying they will work them as floaters.

Nick rudely interrupts McCrae as he is dancing in the HoH room. He tosses out the ideas and McCrae is open to it. The other three come up and they seem ready to go. Nick says that with the five person alliance they always have a good chance to get the MVP.  It’s nice to see someone who quickly understands how the game is played but he might be too smart. He could evidently scare people off.  I also think I would have replaced Jeremy with David in the alliance but as a viewer we have more insights into who Jeremy is as a person.

The initial plan is to go after David to get rid of a strong player but they also mention putting up two girls to cause conflict amongst the ladies. We get the alliance name of The Moving Company which is actually good when you consider that last season we had the Quack Pack.

Aaryn and David seem to be growing on each other. They see each other as a Power Couple and David admits he is there for a showmance rather than the money.

Jessie shows that she is of the same mindset as David since she has crushes on Nick and Jeremy. She is scared because she doesn’t want to be seen as stupid. Well too late for that. She is annoying Amanda with all the guy talk. I am with Amanda on that one.

And now we get the lights going off as everyone realizes that Elissa is Rachel’s sister. Everyone tells others not to share the information but slowly the news gets to everyone slowly. Aaryn says that if she would have been open about it that it would have been ok but since it was hidden she thinks it is conniving. I think that mindset is delusional. If she came right out she would have still had a target on her back. It was a lose/lose situation for her.

It’s time for the first Have/Have Not competition. The back yard is made to look like a camp ground and Judd says it looks just like home. It’s a kind of complicated competition to explain but it eventually leads to having to build a pyramid of pop cans on a board being held by house quests.

Howard looks bad in the water as he struggles getting started and is lapped by the other players.  Judd has similar issues as the Red team falls behind. Aaryn and David continue to get the Showmance edit as Aaryn checks out David as he rows in the water.

The Red team continues to have problems as their cans fall over. The Blue team (Spencer, Nick, Jeremy, Amanda, and Gina Marie) finish first. The Yellow team is close to second place but when David tries to grab a rope the tower of cans falls over. After some back and forth (including Kaitlin dropping a can when only one can was needed) the Yellow team finishes second leaving Howard, Judd, Elissa, Andy, and Helen as Have Nots.

The Have Not room forces the house quests to sleep in airplane chairs. It looks horrible but the metal beds last season still seems worse to be. They also have cold showers and slop to eat.

We get some back yard talk involving McCrae, Amanda, Jeremy, Kaitlin, Howard, and Andy. Kaitlin starts throwing shade on Candice and saying she needs to go. The others seem to be in agreement but I think it is mostly out of being happy to not have targets on their backs.

Amanda starts working with McCrae. He wants the house to tell him who to go with so he has no blood on his hand. Amanda tells him to not go after the strong guys since that would ruin his game. She throws Jessie’s name out. McCrae likes the idea of throwing up to simple players but doesn’t want to feel like his HoH was wasted.

Elissa then gets the next chance to talk with McCrae and she lets McCrae know the worst kept secret ever that she is Rachel’s sister. This is followed with talks with Jessie, David, and Aaryn. Jessie suggests Elissa and Helen with Elissa as the target. Aaryn really wants Elissa gone since she has the nerve to keep her family life to herself. Right before nominations Nick takes a final chance to push for two girls to be nominated so that they don’t rock the boat too much.

With the early nominations the HoH wants to be careful because the order the names come out could give away alliances. McCrae starts with Nick’s key followed by Jeremy, David, Aaryn, Kaitlin, Gina Marie, Elissa, Helen, Amanda, Andy, Howard, Spencer, and Judd. I actually liked this placement since it didn’t give away the Moving Company alliance.

The Nominations are Jessie and Candice. It was a smart choice for the first nominations since he didn’t really step on any toes and he left himself room to work if his game plan changes.

I’ll be back on Tuesday when we have the Power of Veto competition and the unveiling of the first MVP and everything associated with that power. See you then.
