Big Brother is back! CBS’s summer reality competition show returns with a new cast of Houseguests to compete for the $500,000 prize. Tonight we will meet the new Houseguests, as well as the new twists for the season! There are also rumors of four returning players from previous seasons moving back into the Big Brother house this summer. Which four past players will get another shot at the grand prize? All will be revealed tonight. Let’s find out!

The episode begins with Julie Chen inside the Big Brother house. She welcomes us to the new season and tells us this be will be the Houseguests’ craziest summer vacation yet. She says that there will be four competitions and three twists for the summer. She also alludes to “four stowaway Houseguests.”

Now it’s time to meet the Houseguests! The first three are Natalie, Paulie, and Bronte. Natalie was a professional cheerleader, but is now an event coordinator. Paulie runs an athletic gym and is season 16 Cody’s brother. Bronte is a math tutor and describes herself as feisty.

The next three are Victor, Zakiyah, and Corey. Victor is a gym manager. He loves women, but still lives at home. He’s excited to live away from home. Zakiyah is a schoolteacher, but describes herself as a “bad bitch.” She thinks she will bother the other females. Corey is a baseball coach who got a scholarship to Texas A&M. He admits to a sleepwalking problem.

The next three are Glenn, Bridgette, and Jozea. Glenn is a retired cop, but now runs a dog grooming business. He lives with his fiance and daughter. Bridgette is a traveling ER nurse who loves trying new things. Jozea is a celebrity makeup artist. He describes himself as the life of the party.

The last four are Michelle, Paul, and Tiffany. Michelle is a registered dietitian who talks about the obesity problem in America. Shen then lists off a lot of fears that includes alien abduction. Paul is a clothing designer who describes himself as the black sheep of his family. Tiffany is a teacher, and she’s also the sister of last season’s Vanessa. She says she will have a better social game than Vanessa.

All the Houseguests are now in the live studio with Julie Chen. She welcomes them to their craziest summer vacation yet, and announces the first four to enter the house: Natalie, Victor, Michelle, and Paul. The four of them excitedly walk into the house and meet each other. Natalie recites a cheer in the diary room. Michelle notices how offbeat both her and Paul are, but she doesn’t like the beard on his face. Victor is attracted to Natalie, and sees the two of them having a Latin telenovela type of showmance. Paul is eager to take out all of his competitors.

Paulie, Zakiyah, Glenn, and Bronte are the next four to enter. Bronte has a high-pitched voice, and Paul says it sounds like she’s been sucking on helium all her life. Zakiyah finds Paulie to be attractive. Glenn and Paulie bond over both being from New Jersey.

The last four enter the house. Bridgette is a huge fan of the show and cannot believe she is in the Big Brother house. Tiffany says she has a plan and just wants to observe at first. When the time comes, she will be ready to strike. Bronte is overwhelmed, but says she will find her zen. She meditates while in the diary room.

The twelve Houseguests sit in the living room and introduce themselves. Bronte is the first to tell them about herself. She tells them she works in childcare, but does not want to tell her fellow Houseguests that she is an aspiring mathematician. Paulie tells them all he works in athletics, but does not reveal he is Cody’s brother. Victor is attracted to Natalie, but Natalie seems to be more into Corey. Corey then talks about how good-looking Victor is and sees a possible bromance with him. Paul finds Zakiyah attractive and Paulie is intimidated by Paul’s look with the piercing and tattoos. Glenn introduces himself and says 50 is the new 20. Tiffany doesn’t think anyone notices that she’s Vanessa’s sister, but Michelle says in the diary room that Tiffany looks a lot like Vanessa.

It’s now time for the first twist of the summer. Julie has the Houseguests gather in the living room before she announces that there will be three twists coming their way. The first twist she announces is the four stowaways in the Big Brother house that have been there since they moved in. They haven’t seen or heard the other Houseguests, but they will be competing for the half million dollar prize too. These four stowaways will be joining them shortly. Julie leaves them to speculate who they could be.

The first to reveal herself is Nicole from season 16! Everyone is excited to see her except Paulie since Cody had a hand in evicting Nicole two years ago. Nicole says she is excited to be back in the house. The next stowaway is James from last season. James says he will stay focused this time. The third stowaway is Da’Vonne. James is worried to see Da’Vonne since he voted to evict her last year. Da’Vonne says she’s ready to redeem herself after leaving so early last year. The last stowaway to reveal himself is Frank from season 14. He says he hopes to have a better social game this time around.

Jozea, Paul, and Zakiyah go into a room and whisper about how turned off they were about Nicole’s demeanor when she returned. Meanwhile, the returning players go into their own room and agree they must work together. Da’Vonne suggests trying to pull in people who are fans of them. However, Paul and Jozea are determined to take out the returning players.

Next Paulie reveals to the house that he is Cody’s brother. Paul is turned off by Paulie revealing this after Nicole came into the house and doesn’t seem to find him trustworthy. Tiffany, however, doesn’t reveal she is Vanessa’s sister. However, Da’Vonne says in the diary room she recognizes Tiffany as Vanessa’s sister, but she plans to keep this information to herself and use it to her advantage.

Julie reveals the next twist: this summer they will play the game in teams of four. They all will play a part in choosing their teams. The other Houseguests react to this, and Da’Vonne is especially displeased about having to play with three other people.

It’s time for the first competition and to pick teams. Each returning houseguest will be on different teams and get the first pick and must pick someone of the opposite sex.

Round 1. Frank picks Michelle. Da’Vonne picks Paul (but accidentally says Paulie first). James picks Natalie. Nicole picks Corey.

Round 2. Corey picks Tiffany. Natalie picks Victor. Paul picks Zakiyah. Michelle picks Paulie.

Round 3. Paulie picks Bridgette. Zakiyah picks Jozea. Bronte then automatically goes on James’ team and Glenn automatically goes on Nicole’s team.

The competition begins. It’s an endurance challenge that requires teams to hold onto their rockets as long as possible. The first team to fall off will be the have-nots. The second team to fall off will get a mystery punishment. The third team to fall off with win $10,000 to be divided among them. The last team to fall off will be safe for the first two evictions. Julie then reveals that there will be an eviction before the end of this two-night premiere.

Everyone is holding onto their rockets. It starts raining, and Tiffany and Glenn are the first two to fall off. Nicole falls next, just leaving Corey the last person left on the rocket for her team. Bridgette, Michelle, and Frank are the next three to fall, just leaving Paulie for his team. Da’Vonne and Zakiyah are the next two to fall. Paul and Jozea fall next. They will be have-nots along with Da’Vonne and Zakiyah.

James falls next and he’s followed by Natalie. Bronte falls next. Paulie, Victor, and Corey are now the last three left on a rocket. Paulie falls next, so now it’s just down to Corey and Victor. Corey falls. Victor wins. Victor, Bronte, James, and Natalie are safe for the first two evictions.

All the newbies want to take out the vets, and the vets are determined to stick together despite being on different teams. Da’Vonne talks to her teammates and suggests them looking out for one another. They agree, but they snicker to themselves after she exits the room. Paul says in the diary room that he’s a nice guy, but not that nice. He says Da’Vonne can be the third evicted Houseguest this year instead of the second one gone like she was last year.

Victor, Bronte, James, and Natalie come up with a team name, but are struggling. Meanwhile Frank, Paulie, Michelle, and Bridgette call themselves Category 4 and Nicole, Corey, Tiffany, and Glenn call themselves the Freakazoids. Da’Vonne, Zakiyah, Jozea, and Paul call themselves Big Sister and Victor, Bronte, James, and Natalie finally settled on Team Unicorn.

Meanwhile, Tiffany believes there is a chance Michelle and Nicole are related since they look alike. They are not, however. While Tiffany is asking her if she’s related to anyone in the house, Michelle asks Tiffany if she is related to Vanessa. Tiffany is hesitant at first, but she finally does admit to being Vanessa’s sister. Michelle promises to keep her secret.

It’s now time for the next twist. It’s called the Hit The Road competition. It will be played in rounds, and the results of this competition will determine which team will have to play against one another to see who will be the first Houseguest evicted. The competition requires teams to stack blocks while balancing it while holding onto ropes. The competition starts, and Team Freakazoid take an early lead stacking and balancing their towers. The other two teams drop their towers. Da’Vonne and Paul are getting frustrated with each other while working on their towers. Team Freakazoid just need one more block, but they drop their blocks when trying to keep it balance to get the next block. This now gives the other two teams to catch up, and Category 4 wins the competition. Paulie, Bridgette, Frank, and Michelle are now safe.

Nicole is worried about being sent home first, but Corey assures her they will win the next competition. Meanwhile, Da’Vonne breaks down crying in the diary room. She says she wanted to play by herself and she does not like having to depend on other people.

The next round of the competition requires teams to build a sand castle puzzle. There is only one possible solution with the pieces they are given. The competition begins, and they are all struggling with the puzzle. Da’Vonne is once again frustrated with Paul. She says he is being too aggressive, and Paul does not appreciate Da’Vonne’s demeanor either. Bronte notes from the sidelines how badly the Freakazoids are doing, and she jokes in the diary room that Corey might’ve been hit in the head by too many baseballs in his time. Freakazoids think they solved the puzzle, but they are incorrect. They noticed what Glenn tried to tell them earlier. They get to work, but Big Sister believes they finished. They are wrong too. However, they fix it and are correct. Big Sister win the competition. Either Nicole, Corey, Tiffany, or Glenn will be the first one evicted.
