Big Brother 17 Spoilers Week 2 – Veto Ceremony

As expected, the veto ceremony took place today in the Big Brother 17 house. After winning the Power of Veto competition last week, John used it on himself.  In need of a replacement nominee, reigning Head of Household, Shelli, put Meg up on the block.

Initially, Shelli decided to nominate Liz as the replacement. She figured everyone liked her, but if she wound up going out for some reason, there wouldn’t be a target on her back. But when she caught wind that houseguests like James, Jason and Meg were more loyal to her target for eviction, Da’Vonne, than she originally believed, Shelli decided to put up Meg instead. The reasoning was that NOBODY on the other side of the house would evict Meg over Da’Vonne.

Shelli didn’t get around to informing Meg that she planned to use her as a pawn until early this morning. She gathered Meg, James and Jeff into the room to break the news.  Shelli said she didn’t want to put to big targets on the block at the same time. The one who survived would come after her.  She reiterated her feelings about Audrey. She knows she needs to go.  But to protect her game, Day needs to go first.

“I’m tearing myself up about this,” Shelli told the group. But the only option to ensure Day leaves the house is to put up someone that she’s “super close to.” And the only person she can think of is Meg. She claims to feel terrible about the decision. But she’s sure no one will vote Meg out.

“I get it,” said Meg, “But it sucks.”  Meg added, “I kind of knew this was coming.”  The only thing she asked from Shelli is that she have her back for the next couple of weeks. “I don’t want to keep being put up as a pawn,” she said.

Of course, there’s the Kathy Griffin twist. The houseguest who answers the 7th phone call from the comedian will be able to keep 3 houseguests from voting to evict.  Even if Day was handed the privilege, and she was able to hand pick the houseguests, I still don’t think she’d have enough support to stay. Even if James decided to vote to evict Meg.

UPDATE The phone calls already happened and Day was indeed the 7th! On Thursday she can keep 3 houseguests from voting for eviction.

What do you think? Is Da’Vonne’s eviction now a sure thing?
