Big Brother 16 Episode 25 – Recap and Discussion

Big Brother 16 Episode 25 Recap and Discussion

What a crazy episode of Big Brother! The best part of tonight’s episode was Zingbot and Kathy Griffin. I thought it was interesting that they had Kathy Griffin come in the house. It definitely shook the houseguests up and their faces were priceless. Compared to previous seasons, they definitely got “zinged” pretty hard. I also thought the segments for this week’s Team America mission were fun. Anyway, on to tonight’s recap.

When the show picks up after the events of Sunday’s episode. Donny is celebrating his Battle of the Block victory and knows that Christine tried to throw the competition so that he would stay on the block. He’s confused that the house wants him out so badly since he’s been nothing but nice to his fellow houseguests. We go to the bathroom where Derrick and Cody are talking to Christine about the Battle of the Block competition. Cody asks Christine about the strategy she and Donny used and realizes that he and Caleb should have done the same thing and they probably could have won it. Christine also mentions to the guys that she knows that Donny knows how they have been playing the game. In the Diary Room, Derrick tells us that this is the 1st time things haven’t gone his way in the game and he’s a little worried about this week. Caleb  tells us in the Diary Room that the best case scenario for the week is for Victoria to go home if the veto is used.

The show then shifts to the kitchen where Zach and Frankie are cleaning. Frankie mentions that he is in a bad spot since 2 of his allies are on the block and it all comes down to who wins the Power of Veto this week and that he may have to put a new person up and that person could end up having to be Zach. Derrick then goes to congratulate Donny on his Battle of the Block victory and says that as long as Frankie doesn’t put him up they should be set for the week. He also mentions to Donny that Frankie will probably want Victoria out this week and Donny says nothing. He mentions to us in the Diary Room that the houseguests think he is clueless when it comes to the game but says that he knows what’s going on. In the Diary Room, Derrick tells us that if you’re not with him, you’re against him. Derrick is also worried that if Donny wins the veto, their plans for the week could be ruined.

Derrick and Frankie talk and Frankie mentions that he is worried that either Donny or Victoria will win the veto. He knows that if they win the veto, they’ll keep the nominations the same and he could lose an ally. Derrick again hints to us in the Diary Room that he wouldn’t mind seeing Zach on the block. We then go to the storage room where Donny is getting a drink. Zach enters the room and congratulates Donny on his victory and Donny hopes that Zach wins the veto so he would be safe for the week. Donny mentions to us in the Diary Room that Zach could be on the outs in his own clique and says that he wants to gain Zach’s trust and maybe work with him in the game. Zach also knows that he could be on the outs in his own alliance.

We then go to Frankie and Zach in the Head of Household room where Zach is asking Frankie what would happen if Victoria won the veto and happened to use it on Cody. Zach wants Victoria up on the block and makes sure to add that Derrick would win in the Final 2 easily. Zach mentions in the Diary Room that he knows he has made mistakes in the game and the best move for Frankie’s game would be to send himself, Derrick, or Cody home this week. He then adds that he just wants Frankie to go through with the plan to backdoor Victoria. We go to commercial break.

After the commercial break, we go to a Team America meeting with all 3 members in the Head of Household room. Their mission for the week is to steal an item of clothing from each houseguest and organize a “neighborhood watch” to make sure it doesn’t happen again. There is a segment of them stealing the clothing and Derrick adds that it will be a fun mission for the week. Frankie gathers the houseguests and mentions that it’s time to draw players for the veto competition. The players in the Veto Competition end up being Victoria, Cody, Caleb, Christine, Frankie, and Donny. Cut to Caleb and Christine in the bathroom where Caleb is complaining that Donny was chosen to play in the competition. Caleb knows that he could be going home if Victoria wins the Veto and keeps the nominations the same. Zach and Donny again have a conversation where Donny mentions that they don’t want to get rid of Victoria and that he will do his best to win the Veto to keep Zach safe for the week.

The house is asleep when the doorbell rings. It’s time for Zingbot to enter the Big Brother house! Donny notices that the Zingbot is acting nicer than usual and knows that something’s up. The doorbell  rings again and Kathy Griffin enters the Big Brother house. She’s there to hold a “Zingertvention”. She proceeds to “zing” the houseguests. She tells Caleb, “You and Amber have something in common. You think she’s drop dead gorgeous while she just wants you to drop dead.” She then moves on to Christine and tells her, ” There’s a belief that glasses make people look smarter. Thanks for disproving that.” She moves on to Victoria and tells her” “I’m only supposed to zing people that are actually playing the game.” Finally, she moves on to Zach and tells him, ” What do you call someone who wears pink, not afraid to cry and cuddles with men? You call them Zach.” Zach acts upset and mentions to us that he was not prepared to be zinged by Kathy Griffin. It is then time for the veto competition.

Kathy hosts the competition and the point of the game is to “reboot” Zingbot to his usual, mean self by plugging in cables to provide electricity to a series of lightbulbs. The 1st person to do this will win the Power of Veto. Frankie takes the lead in the competition followed by Donny and Caleb. It is a battle between the 3 of them for awhile but Frankie eventually wins the competition. The true Zingbot then comes back to life and “zings’ the houseguests. Zingbot tells Frankie, “That’s some nice tan, but I’m surprised you get any sun at all considering the amount of time you spend in your sister’s shadow.”  Next, Zingbot says “This is a house of attractive dudes. There’s not one unattractive man here. Oh wait , I didn’t see you there Derrick!”

The next zing is “Donny, your look is very Duck Dynasty. Too bad you’re game is Suck Dynasty.” That zing is followed by, ” Cody, you’re such a nice guy. You haven’t made any enemies this summer, except for maybe Christine’s husband.” And with that, Zingbot and Kathy Griffin exit the house. We go to another commercial break.

Once the show returns, Zach congratulates Frankie on his Veto victory. Zach then works Frankie to get him to not put him on the block and even mentions that he’ll keep Frankie safe for 2 weeks if he saves him this week. The show goes to Frankie laying in the Head of Household bedroom and Frankie mentions to us that he’s thinking of getting someone out of the house that’s been bad for his game since the beginning. We  go to another Team America segment where everyone is freaking out over their missing items. Victoria is initially blamed for everything going missing until Caleb points out there could be a Saboteur in the house and that person could be Zach. The houseguests then organize a neighborhood watch and eventually find all their missing items at the bottom of a storage room trash can. Frankie mentions to us that he could use these events to persuade the house to get rid of Zach this week.

It’s time for the Veto meeting. Frankie mentions that he loves both nominees on the block and uses the Power of Veto to remove Caleb. He then does a short rap before putting Zach on the block. Cody mentions to us that the game isn’t over until the votes are revealed and Zach mentions that he feels betrayed by Frankie.

Who will be evicted tomorrow night: Zach or Cody? Which juror will re-enter the game? Tune in tomorrow night to find out! As always, the comments are open for your thoughts on the episode!
