So far, it looks like the strongest singers are the guys. Interesting. Chris Sligh is a contendah, but I admit to a weakness for Sean Michel. I am a sucker for the unlikely...

You know, Chris Sligh, along with sundance Head were my favorites, but I think Brandon Rogers just blew them away. We will have to see, But I think they will be in the top

Count me in on the Chris Sligh bandwagon. There is something about him that I love. If he delivers during the top 24 rounds he has my vote.

I'm firmly on the Nicole Gatzman bandwagon...for 2008 or 2009.

Simon and Randy were right on in passing on her this year, but encouraging her to come back in the future. She's not there....yet. She has some work to do, but she has time. She's only 17. The best years are in front of her.

She's so similar to those 16 or 17 year old contestants (Will Makar comes immediately to mind) who I thought were too young to make it to Hollywood. A year or two of maturity and practice will do her wonders.

I always like someone who is just a little bit "different." Chris S. falls into that category. Not sure about the voice, yet, but he does have the ability to hit the notes. "Kiss from A Rose" is a great song and he certainly did it justice.

I do not mind his Jack Osbourne looks, mainly because he is really, really funny. That was quite enjoyable.

Looks are so subjective anyway. Many though Chris Daughtry last year was hot looking. I thought he was really unattractive. But he had stage presence and a voice.

Taylor was a "personality" but also a performer and he has/had enough vocal chops, on top of his very engaging TV presence, to carry him right to the finish on top. But he certainly was not for everyone. This I fully understand.

The beauty of American Idol is, when we get through all this stupid made-up "entertainment" that is the tryouts, we actually get entertained for real by various people who are liked, obviously, by different people for different reasons.

Goofy hair? Goofy glasses? Does *** not realize that not everyone falls under the "typical" label when it comes to looks and beauty?

Chris Sligh has a good voice, great personality, and charisma. He has IT. I'm proud of him for sticking by his guns and continuing to audition. I have come to the same kinds of conclusions about auditions and AI that he did. You really learn a lot in the process.

McPhee sucks at interviews and her personality leaves a lot to be desired, but she happens to have a good voice. Well, I'm sorry, ***, but personality does play a role. Maybe if yours wasn't such a turn off, more people would like you. Gawd, she makes me hate her more at every turn. She really needs to go to PR school for about 3 weeks before giving ANY more interviews. To think I actually at one time LIKED this girl. Ugh.

I loved Chris Sligh. I'd heard his name before, yes, and was expecting him to be good. However, let's put it this way - no one else last night made enough of a lasting impression on me that I even remember their names. Chris would have, even if I hadn't heard his name. I don't know about everyone else, but that's who people at MY work were talking about today.

As soon as he said that his goal was to make David Hasslehoff cry, he had me. I'm a fan. He's gonna be one of my favorites this year, I'm thinkin'.

Now, bring on Brandon Rogers! He better not disappoint me!

No kidding? I spent the first 28 years of my life there. I wasnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t hating on Pittsburgh.

Truly, I totally loved Pittsburgh! Every person I encountered--cabbie, waiter, random Joe--was incredibly helpful and friendly. The city itself has a sort of homey, organic beauty. There was this huge hill with all these houses...man, it looked really cool.

OK, topic: Not gettin' the Chris love, but maybe he'll improve in Hollywood. Anyhoo, so it's Fro Patro, is it? "Patro" means "father" in Esperanto. So he's our hairy dad? I think I'm missing something here.

Hey, MJ, donà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t be hatinà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ on Pittsburgh. I had to go there for business about a year ago, and I thought Pittsburgh was really lovely, in a post-old-school, blue-collar way.
