Superstar and Season 1 American Idol champ Kelly Clarkson has been cutting songs for what she teased last year might be a country album *and* a pop album. Last year, songwriter Kalisa Ewing (who cowrote Kellie Pickler’s “Where Did Our Love Go?”), confirmed that Kelly was set to record a song called “Go On,” which Ewing cowrite with James LeBlanc (Gary Allan’s “Hungover Heart,” Jason Aldean’s “Relentless”) and The Cadillac Three’s Neil Mason (Jake Owen’s “Days Of Gold”). And now, we have a demo of the song!
Kelly is also confirmed to have cut the Matt Jenkins/Shane McAnally/Trevor Rosen song “Fade Into You,” which has also been performed on ABC’s
“Go On” and “Fade Into You” mirror Kelly’s previous country-targeted releases “Tie It Up” (which peaked at #33 on the Country Aircheck/Mediabase & Billboard Country Airplay charts) and “Don’t Rush” (which peaked at #25 on the Country Aircheck/Mediabase chart and #27 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart) in that they lean soulful rock and soulful, respectively.
About a month ago, Kelly tweeted that she was back to writing and recording, and is now aiming to release a new album at the end of this year:
@rileylange Ha! I am writing now & gonna be recording soon. We're aiming to release my next album at the end of this year :)
