    I don’t like to be a dream stomper on-er but Anoop needs to stay in college get his degree and play music on the side. Or did he graduate already? not sure. Either way he needs something he can fall back on incase this whole making music for a living does not work out.

    Then guess I am glad it’s his decision and not yours. Glad he decided to give music a shot. Not everyone can be NeYo, but that doesn’t mean that he can’t make a nice living doing what he loves. If people thought like you very little would be done, not only sure things pay off.

    FYI, Anoop got his BA, double majoring in Political Science and American Studies in 2008. Before AI, he was a graduate student in the field of cultural anthropology, working towards a Master of Arts degree in folklore at UNC (according to Wikipedia).

    I think its great that Anoop is pursuing his musical dreams. The guy obviously has many passions and talents.

    Thank you, movin2thabeet for letting others know about Anoop’s educational background. He can always fall back on it, but for now, he should be doing what he loves

    This is new and diffrent. Anoop stands high and above many recent Idols from Season 8 & 9. He just needs the right vehicle to get his music heard. I hope Nigel has Anoop as a guest singer, or at least plays his music for a Bollywood number on SYTYCD.

    The guy can sing.

    Anoop can sing and he has drive, determination and is resourceful.
    He’s been busting his butt doing any gig he can find, he’s been to London to present at an international music awards show – he already has a large fan base in India and the Philippines. He’s been going to radio stations, setting up promotins with Barnes and Nobles. He’s been working in LA, Atltana, Raleigh and Nashville putting together more music to be released in the fall.
    We don’t see what he’s been doing because it’s not major news but he’s doing what he loves and has the pedal to the metal doing it.
    He’s totally independent which means he doesn’t have anyone holding him back musicially but also means he doesn’t have any backing unless he generates it himself.
    I am very proud of him for so ardently pursuing his dreams.

    Rickey at rickey.org had a fun encounter with Anoop in NYC after Anoop’s Barnes and Nobles book signing…..includes pictures and Rickey helping Anoop along the way to the airport…
