Elliott Yamin has been “in and out of the studio” this year, recording his next record, due to be released sometime next year.

You can catch a glimpse of Elliott in the studio with producer Jermaine Dupri, (Usher – Confessions, Mariah Carey – “Always Be My Baby,” Emancipation of Mimi) in a video posted on JD’s blog. Look for it, after the jump.

Elliott’s been quiet lately, but he did emerge a few weeks ago, traveling to Israel to take part in the “Believe” concert for peace, which capped off an international conference marking the 10th anniversary of the Peres Center for Peace.

Talent from around the world, including Elliott and Andrea Bocelli performed at the event which took place on 11/27. I’ve got two videos, Elliott and Liel Kolet duet on a Diane Warren song called “I Wish That” and Elliott performing “Can You Feel the Love Tonight”

Last item. Free stuff! Amazon is running a “25 days of Christmas” special–every day this month they’re unveiling a new Christmas tune you can download for free. Elliott’s “Warm Me Up” from his recent Christmas album is the selection for December 7.

Get it here: 25 days of FREE

Can You Feel the Love – Believe Concert

JD is Jermaine Dupri who produced some of Mariah and Usher’s biggest hits. And he’s Janet Jackson’s hubby. Thanks for posting this. :) Added plus – most of that free holiday music from Amazon is first rate. I downloaded all of it.

Yay! I love Elliott news. I was moved to listen to some of my old MP3 of his Idol performances.

LOL. I saw “free stuff” and “Amazon” and instantly thought….all music on Amazon is free right now. Silly, silly me. I’d d/l Elliott’s “Warm Me Up” track but I already have it! (and I luv it…my parents and my brother do, too)

Can’t wait for the new album.

  • Suzanne

Thx for the tip on Warm Me Up–I’ll go listen. I love free things.

It’s great that Elliott was able to participate in the Believe concert. Thx for the videos. I’m slightly disabpointed that there was no harmony in the duet. She’s a good singer also, and it was a simple song. They could have sung together well. Maybe they didn’t have time to rehearse anything other than melody.

ETA–Elliott was great on Can You Feel the Love Tonight. I remember why I just fell in love with him two years ago. Especially on the key change and the end when it was just him. Just fantastic. Funny, he was uncomfortable with the stationary mic a few times. I guess he had to stay put for a camera?

Good to see Elliott news!!!! Thanks, MJ. :-)

ETA: Elliott has a fantastic voice, but “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” is an extremely boring song. I only made it halfway into the vid.

Could I feel the love? You betcha. Uh oh. Elliott made me cry again.

Mj- thanks so much for Elliott news, he remains my fav idol of any season, love him madly still nearly three yrs after his first appearance on AI. I cannot wait for the new cd, the clips sounding really funky,
I downloaded Warm Me up and have it as my holiday ring tone, People love it!

Wow two years next March! It was only last November that I stood in the freezing cold outside a club in NY waiting to see Elliott and he was worth every icicle LOL.
I can’t wait for his next CD and tour.
Thanks for the free music link, I downloaded some.

ETA: Elliott has a fantastic voice, but à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“Can You Feel the Love Tonightà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ is an extremely boring song. I only made it halfway into the vid.

Suggestion: try the video again but jump to the last two minutes or so. From the key change to the end is really good, and the last minute, which is just Elliott with minimal accompaniment is great, vintage him. I felt a lull in the middle too–It looks like it was a big production number of the concert but the full choral/orchestra thing didn’t play that well on TV b/c it was visually dull and not louder.

I welled up too. I’m not a huge fan of his newer stuff–I just don’t warm to R&B–but I love pop and jazz from Elliott. I still have Moody’s Mood for Love on my core playlist.

And–I listened to Warm Me Up. A lot of people seem to like it. There’s a line in it though that really bugged me. Paraphrasing–”Come here. I’ve got something for you. We won’t stop until we’re through.” It’s really bugs me when guys act like s*x is some big gift they’re giving women.

ETA–Thanks a million for the free download link. I took quite a few things. Ho Ho Ho.

Thanks MJ. It’s so nice to hear news about the immensely talented, sweet Elliott Yamin..He has already accomplished so much without the push from a big record label. He has done this with his God given talent and lots of hard work..

Thanx for the Elliott news! Being produced by Jermaine Dupri is a big deal; can’t wait to hear Elliott’s new CD. Did he say March 20?
