America’s Got Talent season 3 winner, Neal E. Boyd was hospitalized over the weekend after a serious car accident.
The opera singer, who was named the AGT champ in 2008, is fighting for his life, according to reports. He was involved in a single car crash in Scott County, Missouri, at around 8:45 a.m. on Jan. 21.
Neal and his mother, who was a passenger in the car, are both in serious condition at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
Local CBS affiliate KFVS-12 reveals details of the crash from a report: The crash occurred on northbound I-55 at the 89 mile marker after Boyd ran off the right side of the roadway, struck a tree, went airborne and struck another tree.
The report also states Neal was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident. But his mom, Esther R. Boyd, 62, of Sikeston, Missouri, was wearing hers.
