Gabam are you referring to “Declaration”? Sounded a whole lot like David Cook to me and I love the sound. Archie looked so small with Jordan Sparks. He did seem like a kid in a candy shop at the whole thing didn’t he? Very excited. Must be exciting for both David’s to be there live, in person, with at least some of their heroes. How great to be invited to sing and to present.

A long day in LA in heels but it was fun (my feet still hurt though All worth it to see DC and the band live doing their own songs. The whole thing seemed really impromptu. I’m really impressed by how well the band was able to start — and stop — and repeat songs as needed. They gel really well together.

There were maybe 200 people in the pit in front of the stage? A mix of people recruited via DCO and regular seat-filler types (these two girls behind me were ALL ABOUT the Jonas Bros and only mildly interested in DC, lol).

DC and band got on stage a little after 2pm w/o even a soundcheck and started off with Declaration, and then there was a little debate between DC and someone offstage (AMA people? his handlers?) about what to perform next. At one point jokes about fruit ensued (someone explain the grapefruit thing to me!)

So they seemed to settle on “Life On The Moon” — except about 30 seconds in they came to a screeching halt. Oops, wrong song!

Did “Light On” once, were told an electronic billboard in the background had the wrong image up so they did it AGAIN. Nice energy in the crowd, and I’m glad they picked up good audio of us singing along.

They tried to hustle us all out pretty quickly afterwards. A lot of us crowded up to the stage to try to chat with DC and get his autograph on our CD booklets. Someone asked who wrote KoTN and he said he and Neal did.

Hilarious moment: security guy trying to get rid of us realized there was no way we were leaving till David was gone, so he yelled to someone “Get him off the stage!!!” DC was very sweet and tried to sign as many autographs as he could before they made him leave (including mine. yay!)

He popped up again about 2 hours later on the red carpet in a different outfit. I guess they didn’t show him during the preshow cause the way they told it on tv he was supposedly doing the concert right then. Magic of TV, lol.

My bf was on camera duty and he got some good pics…I’ll try to upload them when I get home from work today.

MJ, you picked my favorite picture… :wub_tb: Cook and Kyle, all spiffy in their vests and ties, looking every bit the rock gods with the money note face and hair flying. David and the boys sounded even better than they look, too. I still can’t get over how tight this band sounds after only a few months. It’s like they’re seasoned pros already. Let’s see…winning AI, performing on SNL, serenading the future secretary of State and now performing at the VMAs…could the Superbowl be far behind?? Hee hee.

Wow! Those guys are getting better and better with every performance! And they all looked adorable. David was so calm and polished on stage when he presented. I felt like he just belonged there. His mom is probably crying…again. :laugh_tb:

EEB stands for “Easy on the Eyes Band” …or something to that effect (I’m almost embarassed that I know that!).

I’m curious, Gabam…people keep on making the Daughtry reference which I have a hard time seeing. I can pick up a little bit of Lifehouse, Cornell and Aerosmith in some of the songs…but never Daughtry (who I have nothing against, by the way). Which Daughtry song reminds you of “Declaration”? I only know about 4 Daughtry songs (Home, Feels like Tonight, It’s Not Over and Over You) and none of those sound at all like Declaration…so I’m guessing it’s one I’m not familiar with.

I just saw the AMA “Desperation” clip. The song sounded like a Daughtry song with a touch of Nickelback and Hinder.

What does EEB mean?

All of the Idols looked great, IMO, and they all did their assigned tasks well on the show. I’m so proud. *tear*

That Archie/Jordin hug was cute. She has a birthday next month too, I think.

No one commented on David ArchuletaÃƒ ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s makeup. He looks kind of ghoulish. (Is that how you spell ghoulish?) Really powdered off.

I was looking at some HQ photos of him from the red carpet and I didn’t notice that there was an abnormal amount of makeup on him.

Ghoulish? Ouch. I disagree, I think he looks cute as usual. Cook, though, IMO, could stand to lose the guyliner…

He sure does look like a pro-wish we could have seen all of “Declaration”though. He looked and sounded great, the band did too, smokn’. I half wondered if he changed because Archie was almost wearing the same thing.

He’s just so adorable I wish I could see him live too!

I can’t wait til next year ..he’ll be up there receiving!

Okay, I didn’t realize the party moved over to the live blog, but had to make a couple of comments.

My husband just asked if I knew PinkÃƒ ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s real name, and no, I do not, so he provided it: Alecia Beth Moore. Who knew? But her hair hasnÃƒ ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t been pink in awhile, so she might want to be Peroxide now.

Now that’s a LOL! Thanks.

I kind of wonder if the Jonas Brothers were looking (and listening Ãƒ ¢Ã¢â€š ¬’ OUCH) to the NKOTB and freaking out, like Scrooge seeing the Ghost of Christmas Future.

I hope the JBs do better. Rolling Stone, kinda have a love affair going with them.
