ETA: Here is the full list of nominees. Host Jimmy Kimmel, Jesse McCartney and Julianne Hough announced the nominees in LA this morning from the Beverly Hills Hotel.   Alicia Keys leads the nominations with 5.   The Eagles and Coldplay garnered 4 noms.

For the second year in a row, the winners will be determined by online voting. Yeah, I’m taking that seriously…

The American Music Awards nominations were just announced. Daughtry, Jordin Sparks and Carrie Underwood all received nods.

Carrie Underwood received two noms, for Favorite Country Female Artist and Favorite Country Album for Carnival Ride. Daughtry and Jordin Sparks were both nominated in the Favorite Adult Contemporary Artist category. Daughtry received a second nom in the Favorite Pop/Rock Duo or Group category.

The American Music Awards will be broadcast by ABC on Sunday, November 23 at 8 pm.

    I’d actually be surprised if Carrie didn’t win.

    Anyway, wins for Jordin and Daughtry would be nice. I don’t know what their chances are, though.

    I think she deserves it– but I dunno, Taylor Swift is formidable. She’s the hottest thing right now, and she has a rabid teen following, which tends to be good at the online voting thing. I think her songs are decent, but she can’t sing worth a crap (esp. compared to Carrie) IMO.
