We’ll be live blogging the American Idol Live Tour as it heads to the Power Balance Pavilion in Sacramento CA. The show begins at 7 PDT/10 EDT.

Lauren Alaina sprained her ankle in Portland Saturday night, but she’s got her foot in a boot, and she’s ready to take the stage. Will she perform all her numbers tonight? Or will adjustments be made?

UPDATE: Like a trooper, Lauren performed all her numbers wearing her bedazzled boot and using a cane. Her fellow Idols helped her up and down the stairs, and at times she was limping, but she hung in there! Brave girl.

Check out the set list HERE.

Stick around to find out peeps!

Wearing one of those walking boots is exhausting. I wore one for two months. It totally throws off your body’s normal coordination, making every step an effort and placing a lot of stress on your opposite leg.

  • Renee in CA

I hope they change up Laura’s role pronto – no way will she be able to keep that up with the exhausting schedule. Let the girl use a wheelchair if need be on those silly group numbers, and nix the stairs asap.

Anyone find a good video of the girls doing Tightrope? I’ll gladly pay top dollar for one!! :)

I find it unbelievable that they even let Lauren do all the coreography. The cherry on top was when Scotty started to sing Gone after his duet with Lauren and she went down the back steps to come back 5 seconds later. WTF!!!

I’ll chip in :P … I’ve been waiting for a good video quality of that since the first concert. :(

Pretty please someone make a recording of that performance already.

A few comments about the Sacramento show…
*It was great fun having the idols be the backup singer…lots of face time for many of them, especially the girls.
*The last time I went the format was very prescribed–first voteoff sang first up to the winner who was last. A few group numbers along the way. This was very mixed up, with most of the idols appearing at pretty regular intervals in one role or another. Except for Scotty…we didn’t see him until the end. I really liked this format.
*Naima gets the most improved award. She was very polished in everything she did not the stage. Moved well. Looked great. “On the Floor” was definitely a highlight for me.
*I think Lauren also showed quite a bit of improvement. She took more risks in her arrangements. She seemed to be off–probably in pain–the first half but did very well in the second. I thought that James also showed a lot of improvment–or maybe its just that when they get to sing full length songs the they have more time to show off their vocals
*Pia got the no improvement at all award. She doesn’t move and everything she sings sounds the same to me. Boring. I don’t even like her look, and I know many do.
*I loved every moment Cassey was on stage. Santana’s song was a fabulous choice for him. He was clearly having a great time playing with the audience, the band and the other idols. I wonder if they still encourage him to dress like a 70-year-old at a retirement home, or if that is his choice. He can’t help being adorable, though.
*Haley’s “House of the Rising Son” was amazing. She definitely has the full package–gorgeous, lots of variation in her singing, moves very well, very expressive in movement and voice…loved her.
*Seemed to me that crowd favorites were Scotty, James, Cassey, Haley. I would guess that if the audience had one vote each, that would have been the idol order at the Sacramento performance.
*Scotty seems like a nice kid with a good voice but I don’t find his “sexy” moves convincing. However, the very charming teenage girls who sat beside me were moved to tears by his performance.
*I got pretty darn good tickets on Saturday mid morning from Ticketmaster for the show on Monday. $82 each after all the fees. They were on the side, and quite close to the stage. I would happily sit there again.

LOL, during Lauren’s “When I die young” Stefano was totaly checking out Haley’s legs.

I only saw Born This Way and Flat on The Floor and it was painful to see Lauren like that. Poor girl, not only she is stressing the other leg, but her hip, and back also.

Get her a wheelchair and let her sit there and the other girls can walk around, go up and down the stairs etc, etc. The audience will be lucky !! to be able to hear Lauren sing, who the heck cares about choreo.

Wow, why is Lauren still apart of “Born This Way” and “Gone”? That’s just cruel. And it’s distracting from the actual performances.

They should limit her workload ASAP. Maybe give Haley a non-Idol song to sing like everyone else.

    James’ set

Best video I’ve seen of James running through the crowd.
