BAD NEWS! Lauren Alaina has been forced to cancel her appearance tonight due to Bronchitis! She tweeted earlier today: “Hey y’all ! I just left the doctor and I have severe bronchitis. Therefore I’m not gonna be performing tonight. I’m really sorry”

    Alright… I took my daughters to the show last night. We had a great time. Luckily I checked MJ’s on my iPhone so knew that Lauren was not feeling well (wish her a strong recovery). Here’s what we thought…

    1) Everyone had a GREAT time. We all felt a little cheated because the show ended early. They just eliminated Lauren’s 4 songs.

    2) Pia sure lets the air out of a room. She needs a personal choreographer stat. It’s like she was trying to shoplift something and decided to hide it up her skirt. You could have zip tied her knees together and not noticed a change in her dance moves. Right now, she’s a good backup singer. She needs work to be a front person.

    3) Why on earth did they put Jacob after James? Jacob was just a goof ball, and while I don’t like ‘Never Too Much’ that much, I thought that ‘You’re All I Need To Get By’ was excellent.

    4) Casey has a boat load of charisma.

    5) Haley is wonderful. Her voice has the most versatility of the group. I wish the Baltimore crowd showed her more love. She deserves it.

    6) Thia has grown so much. I wish she had waited a year or two. She would have won the whole thing.

    7) I must admit, Scotty is a charmer.

    8) Naima is beautiful, talented, and has a great stage presence. Please Naima, if you can, try out for (and win) So You Think You Can Dance next season.

    9) I enjoyed the group numbers and thought it showed the versatility of all of the idols.

    10) Did I mention that there was too much Pia?

    So I just watched Scotty’s “Gone” and I LOled. He sure recovered well from dropping a microphone.

    Thanks, eyeliner, for the link to the Baltimore videos. That Scotty amazes me–does not appear to be just going through the motions even after doing this every night, but really engages the crowd. And they sure love him. MY teen’s summer job was just being a lifeguard.

    Nobody can replace Lauren nor should they try.

    James should do the duet with Scotty since he’s won a country music singing competition before.

    If not, no great loss.

    IDK. I can’t figure it out either. I watched it several times…pausing it when he had it in his hand and can’t make it out for the life of me. LOL!!

    Here’s a USA Today Interview of Scotty…apparently before the show last night. One of the questions asked was his most embarrassing moment on the tour and he hadn’t had one…yet. hee hee
