American Idols Live – Atlanta, GA – 07/31/09

Well it sucks that we have no crappy underwater cellcast to listen to.

Well we’ll still have the Tweets to live the experience, in 140 characters or less.

Too bad is right. The full LA Tour production team was reportedly to be in ATL today. Could make for some interesting fine tuning.

For those of you not familiar with Atlanta, the Civil War, and Gone with the Wind this is not a slam on Adam. This is in regards to the “burning of Atlanta” one of the most famous Union soirees during the War…and the great scene in Gone with the Wind where Rhett and Scarlett ride through the burning streets of Atlanta on a horse drawn carriage. End of history lesson…back to the show.

Aaron Spears tweeted that they are going to try and do the MFB chat thing during intermission, since they couldn’t do i earlier today.

Yeah. ROF were many people’s fave, altho some hated it. He got the most hateful messages, saying he was being disrespectful to country music and Cash.

I enjoyed Adam’s “Ring of Fire”, but to be honest, I thought Dilana’s similar version when she did it on Rock Star Supernova couple of years ago was even better.

Damn you American Idol concert!!!!! It’s been raining all day, normally Atlanta traffic is from hell, but worse when it’s raining. I work downtown in Atlanta. I live about a minute from the Gwinnett Center where the concert is. This is a 35 mile trip.

Anyway, When I left the office traffic was amazing! I was doing 70 when I was merging into traffic!! No slowdown on the way home!!! AWESOME!! Home in 25 minutes!!!!! Then….

DAMN YOU AI CONCERT!!!!! My exit was SO FREAKING BACKED UP I had to drive several miles out of my way to avoid the AI traffic. Took me 45 minutes to get home.

Oh yeah, I forgot, when I was heading for work this morning, I was driving next to one of the Idol buses that was heading up a couple of blocks to turn into the Gwinnett Center. Windows were totally black. Couldn’t see anyone If I wasn’t already 2 hours late for work, I would have followed it.

This is coming from the out field but … it must be hellish when the crowd shows all that love for Adam and not as much for anyone else. Do you ever wonder how much the others resent Adam because he is so obviously more popular. They all teased him during the show but it must be harder and harder (for all of them) now that they’re out of “the bubble”. I kind of feel bad for them; all of them.

I expected LR would be a turning point where Adam would get relatively less supports and the audiences would be more Kris-centric. I’m surprised that southern ppl not only support Adam no less than those in west coast but also are more passionate.

Crap, I wish you knew how you did that! That’s the one thing that’s annoying about YT – have to be content with small windows. Especially now that I have my own clips I took at one of the shows and I see how large they can be on my monitor! (no, mine are not on YT, sorry).

I watched both versions and Adam does make some significant vocal changes to her arrangement, but he has never failed to credit her when given the chance. They might not have shown it on the live show, but in his AI confessional that week, he credited her and has done so in every interview where it has come up. I wouldn’t presume to say why people like a performance, you either do or you don’t. I loved it. I know people who hated it. My loving it had nothing to do with trying to be cool, but I think condescending to people who liked it or hated it might.

I’m sure there is a fair amount of resentment. It’s probably made even more difficult by the fact that Adam does seem like a pretty nice guy. It’s hard to hate a nice guy. But jealousy is a natural emotion. Sometimes I bet it’s bit of a relief, but Adam’s fanbase is ridiculous, and everything is so Adam-centric. Half the reviews mostly focus on Adam and even make the headline entirely about him. The thing is, not everyone likes Adam’s style the least, but it’s all about Adam anyway.

I don’t recall Adam saying he came up with that arrangement. Do you have a link where he said that? I only remember him saying he “found” a different arrangement that he liked.

Sunn, if I dare say something off topic. Wanted to thank you for advice on how to get visuals for the Adam the Movie I downloaded. Worked like a charm. Watched it last night and relived all over again the moments I fell for Adam. Ahhhh.

I also loved LOVED ROF and that is when I knew Adam was way beyond the AI ilk. Still love it.

For those of you who don’t know, Coke is the big sponsor of the show (yeah, you knew that) and Atlanta is the HOME OF COKE!!! Michael tweeted yesterday that they just got back from Coke, so they went downtown to the World of Coke and probably got the VIP treatment.

Could also be the reason the show folks are here. Big sponsor, bring out the best of the best. Make Big Sponsor happy.

You know I can’t think of one restaurant that serves Pepsi products. Fast food places that are owned by Pepsi, yes, but restaurants and bars, no. There are even some quicky stores that only sell Coke products.

Not to mention that in Atlanta, Pepsi = Yankee. :lol_tb:

How funny, alison. Adam’s fanbase is ridiculous…everything is Adam centric. hahaha Isn’t that how all fanbases are? That’s like saying Kris’s fans are so silly for talking about Kris.
Have you been to any of the concerts? Any smart reporter/editor is going to focus on the entertainer that gets the most audience reaction and that gets the most response to their articles.
It was like that with David A last season. They talked about him at least as much as Cook because that’s what the audience/readership demanded. That’s business.

LOL at the comments about ROF! Just goes to show how polarizing it was. Whether the arrangement was original to Adam or not, it was surely one of the most envelope-pushing performances ever on Idol, what with the snarls, the sexy eyes, the crazy notes he hit. I personally adored it, but I’m sure lots of people were freaked, including Simon.

Thank you, CindyM, for pointing out the differences between Adam’s and Dilana’s versions. I get very tired of people saying he copied her version when it is very clear that they are very different after the first few bars. True, they do start out nearly the same (which is where Adam got his inspiration) but then when Dilana continues on in the same very small range of lower notes, Adam’s version soars with his fabulous vocal range. It’s OK for people not to like it, we all have different tastes in music, but to put it down as “not original” is just wrong.

BTW, ROF sealed the deal for me …

I wonder if they went to the aquarium. I mean, it’s right there and it’s amaaazing. There are whales in them there tanks!!

Why am I really hoping that “needacoke” doesn’t get to throw her “epicness” at the stage. I’m really okay with bras, undies (at least these have no real chance at rendering Adam unconscious if they hit him..unless the bedazzling is waaaaaaaay out of hand…but the other stuff…fail.

You know I can’t think of one restaurant that serves Pepsi products. Fast food places that are owned by Pepsi, yes, but restaurants and bars, no. There are even some quicky stores that only sell Coke products.

I’m with you. I was so happy with Sunrise because nothing got thrown. I thought the whip and cuffs were way OTT and out of line and could have seriously injured someone. All this is going to get out of hand and someone at some point is going to get hurt. I was really hoping that security would remain the same in Atlanta and nothing would be allowed. It’s old already.

You either got it or you didn’t.

So those who didn’t like it didn’t ‘get it?’ 

I don’t think that’s meant to say that if you didn’t like it you have terrible taste. Just that the performance clicked for some and for some it didn’t. I thought it was brilliant, personally.

Hopefully we will get tons of video from tonight if this concert is such a popular one.

He sure did! He never claimed that it was his version.

He mentioned it backstage, too. I didn’t care for Dilana’s voice either. Also, the people who claim Johnny Cash would have hated it obviously never watched the video of Johnny Cash covering a Nine Inch Nails song (Hurt). Johnny was not your typical country singer in the least, very far from it.

Well, I am probably the worst at explaining this, not being as technically astute as Sunn or some of the others here. Someone pulled together all the Adam Idol performances, interviews, etc into a lovely 2 hour or so “movie.” It’s something every Adam fan should have, I think.
You find them on these sites call torrents. Or they are torrents on a site. I found my on piratebay.org but there are others (I’m at work so don’t have my home laptop with all the info). You need to first download some file that opens the torrents. I use bitcomet. It took me four frigging hours to download and then all I got was sound and no pic. Sunn advised me to download something else (name escapes me) and voila it worked.
Anyone else care to explain this more coherently? All this was on one of the recent concert threads — Sunrise, perhaps? Or the other Fla. concert — but then MJ came and erased them all because we were off topic. :redface_wp:

I think people just like because it IS so polarizing and it’s cool to like it, because then you ‘get it’  when the fact is that it wasn’t anything special

See, that’s not a fact, though. That’s an opinion. I knew that it was Dilana’s version, but (as others have said) Adam made significant and very creative vocal changes and I did in fact think that it was an amazing performance based on the way he sang and interpreted it. I didn’t like it because it was controversial or something (I don’t many people in real life who watch AI, so no cool points there). I liked it because I thought it was fantastic. And that’s my opinion. We can all have opinions, and people can dislike it without having poor taste in music.

Anoop is getting the love tonight! I mean, duh, he’s amazing and oh so handsome. But thus far, according to the tweets, people seem to be lovin on him.

Funny, I had heard that ‘Ring of Fire’  was Adam’s most popular performance on the show. It sure was for me.

You know I liked Adam from the beginning but after watching that performace I went from liking him to loving him. It made me sit up and take notice. It also made my 66 year old mother notice him. I had to buy her that song which she played over and over. Simon said some will love it and some will hate it. This is one time that everyone would have to agree with him. And although noone cares I would say falling slowly was the song that made me start paying attention to Kris. Before that I felt he was kinda boring. I don’t feel that way anymore.

And it seems like this is going to be a quiet night. Guess I will find something else to do until videos get posted.

I’d have to disagree with that. I’m a native NY’er and it’s always been a Coke town. There used to be a big Coke plant in Queens and I believe the sign is still standing and can be seen by the East River.

Michael tweeted yesterday that they just got back from Coke, so they went downtown to the World of Coke and probably got the VIP treatment.

Yes, I was at the GA Aquarium yesterday afternoon, which is located just behind the World of Coke (on the same block) and there were signs up that the last ticket being sold was at 5 PM as the Aquarium would be shutting down for a ‘special event”. Some of the security guards and staff helping out our group said they were “expecting some very special guests.” The inside of the Aquarium is really a big room that houses one night of jazz band performances a week, so it would be a great place for a party, and of course there are the exhibits and marine life.
CNN Headquarters is within sight of both buildings too, just on the other side of Centennial Park. Would not be surprised at all if something about the idol tour ends up on CNN tonight. Could that be who is filming(?).
Course this is all conjecture, but it seems logical to me!

anthrogeek, I don’t recall whether you posted or not on the Glendale review. There seemed to be a big controversy over the fact that I am a journalist (though wasn’t writing as one) but was writing as a biased fangirl. It was weird. But oh well!

Am Idol would be going all the way out for major sponsor. Yeah, Coke ,one of the very few corporations to post second quarter profits for 2009 and even post increase in sales for North America. Hope they spend some of those income and hire some of Season 8 , in a commercial.

I’ve been reading through the thread and see that I missed instructions about the movie. My meds kicked in and I got all fuzzy headed. Looks like not much info is coming tonight from the concert. Very slow night. Atlanta is so big. I drove through there tons of times taking my son back and forth to Univ of Alabama. I never lost my way in Atlanta but have gotten lost in Charlotte several times. There’s tons of stuff to do in Atlanta. Maybe the Idols have had a chance to have a little fun.

iasdpride , MJ sometimes doesn’t have time to read all of our posts (we can be prolific). Sometimes, it’s best to e-mail her the link.

Also, MJ doesn’t generally mind if people post links to their sites (provided you aren’t spamming every thread and/or selling something obnoxious). You can post it or you can even hotlink your name to it. If you go to Site Admin (at the top right) you can update your profile and fill in your website. Then, if somebody clicks on your name, they will go to your website. People with purple/pink names are ones that have websites associated with them.

I’m still wondering about that 70 year old man at the concert a couple of nights ago who, someone one at this site said, was sitting all alone and holding a picture of Adam. Fox 5 is probably filming some of the concert to use on tonight’s news as well. Wouldn’t surprise me at all if CNN is filming too.

Yeah…he probably needs to ignore them otherwise it could get really out of control and you never know what someone will throw. If there are security issues things landing on the stage could be a problem.

From what I could tell from the weets, pretty much everyone got a good crowd response. and Adam got more stuff to play with thrown at him. No noting of any Kradam during DSB, although that chicken/kneeling dnce seems to be a nightly thing, so I woul expect to see some version of that if any videos show up.

yeah I’ve see Tom Jones in concert a couple of times .. the first time he was getting loads of knickers chucked at him .. including a pair of masive one’s which he picked up and said “ah Grandma, you made it to the show” … he was quite good humoured about it. A few years later he was still getting stuff chucked at him and he totally ignored it, the novelty had worn off and it was starting to make him a bit of a laughing stock.

I guess the odd item of underwear is a novelty during a fun performance and on something like the AI tour I guess it’s all a bit of fun .. but if it contiues during his solo career I can see it becoming tacky and detracting from the perormance .. especially if it becomes a competition between fans as to who can throw the most controvercial item at him or who can get their item picked up and swung around.

I suppose that’s true, if they post about it. But I still don’t see the harm in it. Adam isn’t forced to pick up the whip or the bra or the boa. I think he enjoys the interaction and the fun the fans are having. He’s said dozens of times that he wants people to have fun when he performs. Until he says otherwise, I’m going to believe him when he says he loves the bra throwing and finds it hilarious and flattering.

Like I said before, I would not be thrilled. I am an Adam fan, first and foremost, and I’m obviously not having fun with it. Throwing things at a performer is not a show of respect, it’s a ploy to get their attention. Nothing more, nothing less. Adam might be having fun with it but if he wants to be respected as a performer, IMO he needs to stop playing with the toys and focus on his performance. He is far too talented to let the toys overshadow the incredible vocals.

Thanks, but I’ve watched every single video of Adam’s multiple times and I’ve loved every performance. There is a difference between ADAM making sexuality part of his show, that’s his choice as a performer. I personally love it when HE does it. What I don’t like is the escalation of attention-grabbing antics by people who are there to see HIM perform. It has become a game of one-upmanship and I dread what’s going to be thrown next. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with throwing the undies and the bras, like I said, rock and roll tradition. I loved the bedazzled undies that were thrown. I have no problem with the “Bitches” sign, I laughed when I opened the twitpic. My laughter was more because I assumed the signmakers were much younger, and was surprised. It did make quite a site and I’m sure Adam was humored. Signs don’t interfere with the performer, only the people sitting behind the people with the signs.

Like I said earlier, I worry about the escalation and one-upmanship that seems to be going on with regard to the throwing of stuff. Some people understand the fun aspect, but when the reaction from Adam isn’t what someone wants, what then? Are the thrown objects going to get even more outrageous??

The Dish of Salt woman asked him how he felt about the bras being thrown on stage. It was a fan question from Twitter. She asked and he said it was fun but then she recapped that and said ‘oh he likes it. Keep throwing the bras’. I don’t remember the exact words that either of them used. i just remember thinking that he might have wanted to say something else. It looked like he wanted to but she moved on too quickly. Anybody else see the interview and form an impression? It was the only interview that I saw where it was discussed. Perhaps there were more but maybe it would be good to get a more definitive answer that comes straight from his lips. And of course he’s going to acknowledge stuff that’s thrown. It is fun for now and he probably doesn’t care too much unless it gets out of hand. And he’s polite.

That’s why someone is not welcome to the parties. They suck up the fun.

I’m not so sure its a win-win. I don’t know about other people but if Adam threw a bra back into the audience and it landed with me my first thought would be ewwww. There is no way I would keep it. It is Adam ´s show and he will do whatever he wants, and I am happy with it. he will somehow let people know if he gets tired.

Exactly. Adam isn’t shy. Adam has, by his own admission, a big mouth and says what he thinks. He’s not going to pick things up just because fans throw them. When it stops being fun for him, or makes him uncomfortable, he’ll stop. He’s a big boy and I think he’s got it under control.

Each idol tries to go out of their way to show they appreciate their fans.

One more thing to add about the throwing of things and the mic humping and everything else that some people think is getting old or out of hand. Most people do not watch the You Tube videos for hours and hours, so for them, at their concert, it is a new thing and only one night.

Obviously to each their own, but I think it’s okay to talk about the performance as well as the vocals’“that doesn’t make it gimmicky. And how these guys interact with the audience or with their surroundings is part of that. You said you like Anoop’s gyrating or swaying that he does’“that’s part of his performance, and people talk about that as well as the vocals. I think some people like watching how Adam uses his improvisational skills as a performer to incorporate these things, and they find that interesting as well as how he actually sings the Bowie medley.

I like his gyrations because they make me laugh every single time without fail. I’m giggling right now, actually. It’s just so funny.. Sorry. Ok. Back to business.

and I didn’t necessarily mean his performance is gimmicky. I meant stuff about him. Like people focus on his sexual orientation, his choice of clothing, his make-up.. I just feel like people will get so caught up in “Adam” that they’ll forget about his vocals.. and he may become a caricature of himself.

I just reread my sentence about Anoop’s dancing and I laughed again. it’s just so.. unintentionally hilarious.

Adam loves the toys that are thrown on stage. I like it too, as long as no one gets hurt. I was afraid he’s slip on all those roses and bras that he ignored for the whip.

To all the peeps who love the throwing of things on stage I can tell you from stage experience its dangerous! I cant read minds but will bet that the reason Adam throws them back out to the audience is to get them off the stage so Allison or Kris doesn’t slip on them and get hurt!

A performer has stage blocking to go to a spot on the stage – it’s dark and Kris (who is waiting in the wings) cant see and has no idea what is going on at the front of the stage during Adam’s set plus he’s focused on his performance – he’s ready to go to a spot on stage – if Adam doesn’t see or get rid of things Kris could easily slip and hurt himself!

If you talk to most any performer and dont confuse their “public persona” (what they say out loud) vs their “private persona” (what they really think) you’ll find they dont want people throwing things at them on stage!

Ms. Saltman added some gasoline on to the throwing undergarments fire, when she specifically said: He likes it. Keep doing it.

It really did look as if he did want to elaborate a bit during that interview. Pure speculation, of course, but I wonder if he might have wanted to mention something about re-directing money spent on “tossables” to a better cause. Sort of like his comments about donating to charity instead of buying him gifts that he doesn’t need or have room for.

Then, again: What do I know? He may have been wanting to say: Black bras only please.

As far as Anoop’s hometown stop goes. He is of course from Chapel hill but if you look at the hometown map at the bottom of the page here, his stop is the stop in Greensboro on Sunday (the point with the yellow star. Each yellow star represents all of the top 10 hometowns). The Charlotte stop (blue dot) has been on the list every year as far as I can tell since I started watching the show during season 5.

The Sunday show is the one I really wish I could go to!

I normally try to incorporate Anoop into every ten posts. It’s no secret I only have eyes for Anoop.

Pinch me, pinch me, pinch me. . ..just got home from the concert and OMG, it was great. It was definitely an Adam crowd, loving every minute of it. The people stood the whole time he was on stage. And the screams were deafening. I had good seats but since I am petite, it was hard to see. I do think his wands were less naughty tonight. He is such a magnetic performer. Emo hair, baby and “Let’s dance people”.

Several pieces of underthings were thrown. Someone threw a purple boa which he playfully placed around Allison’s neck. He also “whipped” his legs with something black (a bra?) and everyone went wild.

Met one of the bloggers from this site and we looked for needacoke. Coke had backstage passes. I am so envious but hopefully she will again share her pictures.

Everyone was great tonight. Scott surprised me – he was very good. My husband who was sweet to come liked the following in order: Adam, Anoop, Allison, Matt. He wasn’t too impressed with Kris (I was disappointed because I like Kris after Adam) but hey, to each his own. For those who are still undecided about going, do it! This is my first AI and all because of Adam who first captivated me with Black or White.

Now for a glass of wine . . . .

I’m glad Adam’s glory note on DSB is back. I noticed that in their past shows, Kris is also anticipating whether Adam will go for it or not. And you can see Kris face lit up when he finally did.

Everybody looked good in their new DSB clothes. But If the old stuff is gone for good … I’m really gonna miss the dress that Lil wears. Her finale dress is the (second) best costume of the evening. Second to ‘the’ jacket and vest.

I understand your point here, and I think it’s probably the best case that it’s actually happening to Adam rather than any of the others (or at least, not to the same extent). He can handle that situation better than any of the others with his experience on a stage and terrific improv skills.

I can only imagine what would happen on a regular basis if it happened to Megan, or Sarver, or Gokey. Or Scott – but that would just be cruel.

Exactly. Good point. Same goes for Adam’s moves on stage and how they appear OTT: they’re meant for an audience of thousands, in a huge arena, not from ten feet away on a grainy cell camera feed. People who see it live seem to generally love it.

Went out tonight and just read through the comments. Things are quite “lively” and heated tonight while MJ is away!

. Parts of Adam have already come a bit.. gimmicky. And by that I mean, people already focus on stuff that’s not to do with vocals.

All I have to say to this is I have already seen the concert, and while Adam puts on quite a show, there is absolutely no way you can not focus on his vocals when you hear him live – period. And while we focus on every peformance nuance and every undergarment and toy thrown, the vast majority of concert goers aren’t aware of this, so for them it is just surprising and fun. Adam loves the theatrical and visual aspects of performing, for Adam, it will always be about more than just the vocals. That’s who he seems to be like it or not. He is aware he is a tad over the top and a bit polarizing. I believe that is how he likes it and he is banking on enough people enjoying it to build a nice fan base and a good career doing his thing. Count me in, I think he is fun. That is my two cents anyways!

I’ve been to a ton of concerts, and underwear being thrown on stage is really common. I know that it at least goes back to Frank Sinatra in the 40′s. And flowers have been thrown for centuries — references in ancient Roman documents. But I don’t recall ever seeing people throw whips, handcuff and sex toys on stage. Not even in South Beach, FL or West LA. Has anyone ever heard of this before?

Everybody looked good in their new DSB clothes. But If the old stuff is gone for good ‘ ¦ I’m really gonna miss the dress that Lil wears. Her finale dress is the (second) best costume of the evening. Second to ‘the’ jacket and vest.

Wait, I missed this, and this is much more important to me than projectile discussion, is there some possibility the Vest Of Ugliness is gone? Why is important information like this being buried and not discussed.

However I haven’t read anything else about this, so I fear it’s some hoax and something was misread. Darn it!

Oh as to the projectile thing, I’m over it, but if the crowds and Adam like it, eh, whatever. And yeah, as boring as I find it, that’s because I’ve seen it tons, others who go, have not. And the one cute thing about it is that Allison and Adam seem to have fun with it during Slow Ride and really that song for me is all about the interaction between them, because musically? Yeah, not so much. So tonight Adam put a boa on Allison as part of that? sounds like fun. And here’s the thing, adds something to the YouTube.

Vest of Ugliness lives on. Some of the other changed their outfits (e.g. Megan is wearing jeans and a t-shirt instead of those great boots which would have killed me feet if I wore them).

You can see in the DSB video that Adam messes up, singing as Kris is trying to do his usual ‘thanks for coming’  spiel. Kris’s reaction to that is funny. And it looks like the bubble machine was extra bubbly.

I saw that – Adam kind of starts laughing after and has this face like “my bad!” Pretty funny. Then we have Allison and Megan doing a “sort of” robot.

And I too loved Kris’s look and excitement when Adam hit the high notes in DSB – just for that Adam needs to hit those notes every night

Unfortunately the DSB vest of ugliness was still there. Could any other article of clothing make Adam look bad. Hard to imagine.

Back in season 2 I was a Clay fan and he got panties thrown at him all the time and it started to get silly.

I remember the Idols and Clay talking about this. He collected them just to see how many he would get and it was about 167 or something crazy like that. Thy all thought is was hysterical and in good fun.

Woops — On Whole Lotta Love tonight the band started playing too early and/or there was a synching problem with the video background and band. Either way, Adam started singing right on time! I think this is the first time I’ve seen this happen all tour to anyone.

Welcome, Kirsten. I am probably older than you (I’m sure!) and I met Jack Jones a long time ago during the Love Boat era. He was very handsome and a very nice man. He sang a song for my anniversary and was very gracious. He is evidently 71 now……OMG! :help_tb:

I meant by my post that Tom Jones has sold over 100 million records, won the Grammy for Best New Artist and has had a long career – THAT IS ALL I MEANT FOR COMPARISON! LOL! I sorry I need to compare Adam to Tom Jones – they are nothing alike.

All I have to say to this is I have already seen the concert, and while Adam puts on quite a show, there is absolutely no way you can not focus on his vocals when you hear him live – period.

Exactly. I saw two concerts and it was the same both times. Sure Adam has enormous stage presence and his performances are very dramatic, but his vocals are so clear, powerful and emotional that his voice is the focus of his entire performance. Even when he plays with props, he incorporates them seemlessly into his performance and they become mere accessories.

Just watched this. It looks like either the band started way early or they ran the intro video out of sequence because the static background seeemd to come before the countdown to 2 and the A-D-A-M. And you’re right, Adam started right on time even with the screw up!

It looks like he was walking around again tonight and changed the vocal up again as well. He uses his lower range a little more. Sounds good — video quality isn’t great.

Looks like way more bubbles than usual. The kid in Kris couldn’t help but play with the bubbles. When he reached for the one I thought he might go right off the stage. LOL I think it became too much though. It looked like several of them were waving them away.

It looks like they dressed down more for the finale. Got into some comfy jeans.

Very true–his voice is actually pretty overwhelming live, and the performance is great but it’s the voice that is the focus. Live, the voice become even more important, and that allowed Adam, Allison, Kris and (this was the one I wasn’t expecting) Matt to particularly shine.

I was there tonight and Adam seemed to very much enjoy the items thrown at him. I especially loved the way he was whipping his leg with the black object (not sure what it was). Allison and him had fun with the purple boa. It was an Adam crowd with screams every time he came on screen and his set was the only one where everyone stood the whole time with piercing screams throughout. I was amazed and horrified at the amount of people leaving during Kris’s set. I was sitting next to the only exit for the floor and tons of people were leaving. I felt really sorry for Kris. I hope he didn’t notice. I was surprised how much I enjoyed Matt and Danny. They had command of the stage so much more so than Kris did, unfortunately. Danny was buff and looked great and I’m not even a Danny fan. Matt is so much better than he was on the show. The rest were forgettable and Megan was horrible. Adam went by way too fast. I need to s
