    I have no idea if crowds will increase in the south, though supposedly Skylar’s hometown (ish) show sold out, but I’d argue this is a relatively diversified cast, particularly musically.  Or at least as diversified as last year. Plus with several of the idols from the south, I’d imagine they would at least draw well in those areas.

    Unrelated to that, while I wasn’t particularly a fan of Colton having three solos, I don’t think he takes over the show.  I’m not sure why some don’t seem to want to count numbers with backup singers as solos, but they essentially are.  Sure Josh & Dre are fun to watch in Proud Mary, but it’s Jessica’s moment.  Same with Josh & Runaway Baby.  I think they just added back-up singers to the solo numbers where it made sense and in most cases I think they are enhancing the performances.  I mean if we counted like that than Home wouldn’t be considered a Phil solo either since he has back-up.

    Here is hoping he posts Superstition and Home…those were great videos with great sound clarity….nice job!!  My staff and I really enjoyed the two posted, but our favorites are the aforementioned.  Thanks.

    Sat’s performance in Chicago drew a pretty large crowd, but it was over shadow by a lot of confusion from the on-line bloggers.

    Of the Top 10 this season
    5 are from the South – including Phillip Phillips
    3 are from the East Coast
    2 are from the West Coast

    No one is from the Mid West states.

    Last year, Haley Reinhart, and Naima Adeadapo were from the Mid-West. And Casey Abrams was born in IL.

    Deandre….you go boy!  Reasons in that high falsetto is not an easy song to sing.

    I would guess that the % of people going to the show see Philip this year is similar to the % that went to see Scotty which is around 35-40%. In fact I would guess the top four of each year would draw similarly which was 20% Lauren, 15 % Haley and James. If indeed the total people going to the shows are less this year it most likey has to do do with the viewership of AI being down and perhaps how people related to the group as a whole and not because Scotty is not there.No bash on Scotty he is great.

    Rewind: there are no facts to back-up that attendance is poor, struggling, the tour is on the brinks of financial collapse, etc. 

    What I am hearing is the typical my season is better than your season, my idol is better than than your idol, so they better have a more successful tour.

    I agree with that Ross review re. Erika’s old looking clothes on the tour.  Everyone else seemed to look chic, young or youngish but her.  I wonder if they choose their own clothes?  Her song though was fabulous.

    I finally got a chance last night to catch up with all the videos from chicago and detroit. I have to say as a fan of Jessica, I’m thrilled with the way she’s performing. I’m glad the “soulful” Jessica showed up and she has a lot more stage presence.

    I’m also loving Joshua. I was kind of sick of IAMW after the season ended, but he is killing it on tour. I just love all the drama he brings on stage. Elise’s WLOL was impressive too. After those 3, suprisingly enough, I liked 2 of Phillip’s performances the best. “Nice and Slow” and “Volcano”. I just like his vibe when he sings those two songs. 

    Overall they all sound good, but there were a couple performances I wasn’t too crazy about. First, “Undo it”, it just sounded weird to me, I don’t know, maybe it’s just me. I also didn’t like the finale, or the 1 direction song. Oh and Heejun’s rapping is just LOL awful, at least he’s entertaining.

    Is there not a “hometown” tour stop for Phillip? That’s usually the show that is guaranteed to sell out — or at least be one of the biggest crowds for the tour

    I think the closest thing to a Hometown Show for Phillip is Duluth, GA (North Atlanta suburbs, about a 3.5 hour drive from Leesburg).  They’re nearly sold out, with only a few scattered single seats still available.

    Wow, thanks for posting this, Memphis! I just love Josh’s sense of drama. He’s such a natural entertainer, and never misses a note. Amazing.

    He needs a haircut, though, lol. The front is starting to look a bit ‘early Bobby Brown’ circa “Every Little Step You Take”.  :-D

    DeAndre is hugely under rated when he was on the show; it could have been the wrong choices given/taken then.  It is great he had been given the chance to showcase himself during this tour.  Here’s hoping the right people take note and give him the chance he deserves :)

    The last video of DeAndre singing Reasons was from the Detroit concert I believe. According to a review he had to put his foot down with security just to come back out twice and hang with his fans some more. We would never have this wonderful video if they didn’t let him back out.
