American Idols Live 2010 Tour – Summerfest – Milwaukee WI

I’m here. It is 4th of July weekend. Maybe people are doing other things.

It is a shame there was no live streaming tonight, hopefully there will be some good videos to follow.

Just so you know, peeps. I’m in Milwaukee. I stopped by Summerfest earlier to get my hand stamped to come back later tonight. Came early (11am) to use promo offer for cheap entry and thought I’d want to check out the Amphitheater while there tonight.

Usually, fest goers can also get a hand stamp for free “lawn seats” once the show’s seats sell out, or nearly out. The show is not NEARLY sold out (it seats over 20K though!) and the person at the box office offered me FREE tix to the show! No buy-1-get-1. No hand stamp. But FREE tix to the show. Decided not to go back all-together.

Not sure what that says EXACTLY about AI9, Idols Live 2010, or summer concerts in 2010 in general. But I just found it odd. Usher was there on the 30th and he didn’t sell-out either. Not even close. Not Too Bad! But not close either. I tried for free tix or some kind of deal for his show – NADA! Like I said, not sure EXACTLY what this all means, but it just doesn’t look good.

They need to get some videos out of the performances – get people interested… throw some bras or w.h.y. on the stage – get some gossip going… anything ;)

I’m extremely sad that the music industry is suffering like it is.

I’m so glad we have this live blog! It’s cool to know what the Idols are doing at this moment, ya know? Even if you’re not there to see it. I don’t think I could update my twitter at a concert, so I really appreciate this :)

I want the discussion to stay focused on the concert. Not on last year, or the year before.

@cookcricket yeah, but what i heard from last night’s cellcast she was in a diff. league. Crystal and Casey could too, but Siobhan could hold her own show, and it sounded pretty awesome. She definitely put something special together and it’s a shame that the show isn’t getting a good turnout, or so they say.

Have small children (toddler & pre-schooler) and it’s 4th of July weekend. #1 Hard to find babysiter. #2 VERY crowded tonight! #3 Lot’s of drunks and “shenanigans” on the road and at the fest at night. Especially tonight/this weekend! Most importantly though, hubby bought his bounty of fireworks today and wanted to share them with the kids tonight. So I’m here to join our homegrown festivities. :)

And I too am sad about the concert scene this year. That’s what makes Summerfest a big deal for me. 100′s of acts over 10 days, plus food, fireworks and fun all for about $15 a day. Much, much less if you catch a promotion during the day (like I did) and get your hand stamped for re-entry later in the day.

Saw itty bitty clips of concert last night and Lee was putting his all into his songs, very animated, sounded good too, what I heard! I wish I was there! Anybody else nostalgic for those nice close ups we got on idol show??? Lol, zoom just can’t get close enough!

I only skimmed through the live blog since I just got online, but I only saw pictures and no videos of her (The only one I saw was from yesterday’s and it was a pretty dull snippet.). What few vids I’ve heard so far, the kids sound awesome and I want more! Yes, I’m impatient.

I know right? It seems like these people are teasing us, giving us 20-30 second clips to show us how great the Idols sound, and then the video’s over. Like they’re telling us to go see the show ourselves! Not that I’m ungrateful. Every video/picture is heaven ;)

I’ve heard that Crystal sounds awesome live! Her voice is just effortless & she’s gotten great reviews :)

That Use Somebody full length vid was awesome. He did a really good job workin’ the crowd! I dunno why, but I laughed when Lee just throws his pick into the audience. I wonder if he’ll do that at each venue. haha

No reason to feel bad for the Idols. Even without sellouts, they’re playing live to way more people than they ever did pre-Idol and are getting plenty of chances to turn people into fans. Of course, if Lee had sounded as good singing “Beautiful Day” on the show as he did in that video of “Use Somebody” I just watched, they might have been selling out! But maybe the good reviews will get even more people to come out as the tour goes on.

I’ve always thought that many contestants who have underachieved on the show have been terrific on the tour (best example – Lisa Tucker’s great Elton John covers) and I’m sure this season will be no exception!

Me too. :( I been trying to find Siobhan vids. I love all of her outfits. I hope vids will pop up soon. :) Everyone sounds good so far. I love Didi but her set seems really boring. She need to pump it up since she is going first. Everyone seems to have improved on the live stage. I think I will get tickets to a show now. I really want to see Siobhan, Crystal, Casey, Katie and Aaron. Ok everybody, lol.

hqzaj, don’t worry, Siobhan is where she belongs. She is getting her feet wet as she’s discovering what kind of ROCK she wants to do. I thought her last number was Metal Rock, but I don’t know much about certain genres.

GreenHippo, Casey was just awesome the first night! You should have seen how happy he was. He was like a wild horse let loose from the pen. Siobhan was a Rock Princess. Crystal was Mother Earth. And yes, you will have a good time. :smile:

LOL those 2 reviews counterdicted each other. One said the first half people were standing but by the end alot had taken their seats. And the other said it was the opposite. hahahahaha

They totally do! Lol.

One thing I noticed they have in common is that they both got songs wrong! “Fighter” became “Faster” in the first one, and “Paint It Black” became “Fade to Black” in the second.

I understand your frustration, I felt the same way about Crystal until 4 full length popped up today. And frankly, it surprises me, as Siobhan brings something different to the show on top of being a great singer. Why don´t they dim the lights while during the first half of the concert?
